I had a friend that would do this. He said the same thing and that if he was in a situation where he couldn't use his right arm he would want some sort of coordination with his left. I destroyed my right shoulder and arm in a terrible....accident and I was force to switch to my left arm.
Takes a long time and relearning how to write fucking blows.

skateboard? It might...
the fine motor skills thing will help like brushing your teeth or writing. There was a great series on brain development here in AUS on our national broadcaster, it's very good you should check it out if you can access it... ABC iview it's geoblocked so you might need to find an aussie based proxy to get it if you're not in the country.

I brush everyday and floss every other day. What gets me is that I always forget to brush before I go to sleep. And I have a habit of eating sweet stuff before I fall asleep. I also haven't been to the dentist in like 10 years. I know I have some cavities too. If my mouth is dry and I eat something sticky and sweet and it gets on the surface of one of my molars it hurts like a moherfucker.

The result that shocked me the most is that more people only brush their teeth for 30 secs to a minute than any other option.
For a while I didn't take very good care of my teeth, and I'm paying for it, but I'm better at it now.
But I always brush my teeth for a solid few minutes, idk why, if you're going to do something why not go big I guess.

What surprised me is how many people haven't been to the dentist in more than 5 years. That means a lot of people could have problem they are not aware of.

ive always had nice teeth and brush once a day.
my ex on the other hand had brown stains on his teeth and after five motnhs of dating i asked him why. he told he didnt brush his teeth very often and i was repulsed.
i guess some people just dont have dental hygeine?

i used to never brush my teeth, recently i started brushing at least once a day
and i can only use the like ribbon type floss, my teeth are too close together for normal floss, i can only get inbetween like half my teeth with run of the mill floss

i took great care growing up. in my twentys i took horrible care of my teeth. i was on the road traveling, partying, and drinking alot. i think, if nothing else, drinking saved me alot more damage than anything, at least compared to if i just didnt brush. i have a feeling the alcohol kept alot of bacteria and such at bay. almost as if it was as if i was basically constantly using mouthwash. but i didnt brush so often. over time the lot of my bottom molars have disintegrated. pretty much here and there they would just break off. the two that are mostly there have holes in them. and the rest are either just small peices or not there at all. my front and top row of teeth are suprisingly decent for all ive put them through.
my gums were the worst though. anytime i did brush they would bleed profusely. crazy the things you just toss to the wind and not give a fuck about when your in an alcoholic haze. me anyway. i was kinda spun out for a while. depressed for a while as well.
there have been times i was worried about silent abcesses that might kill me, as i remember hearing that might be a likely way king tut died. lol they call it the silent killer, being that it can get into your blood stream and affect your heart or brain, in some instances causing people to just drop dead. i used to worry i had aids too. i went through a very nervous, almost skitzophrenic period in my mid twenties for a lil bit.
anyhoo, i think im ok as far as that goes, and i take alot better care of them now. again i think the alcohol was my saving grace, as much as it was what proly cause me to neglect them as much also.
i proly havent been to a dentist in at least 8 years and im honestly a lil scared too. i dont have much money or dental, so my only option would proly be a school where they have students work on you supervised. ive heard of people getting work done that way. and if nothing else, a proper cleaning. now i more or less brush every day. sometimes i forget. floss close to never. i rinse my mouth with mouthwash pretty much daily.

The alcohol probably is a big reason for a lot of your problems, beer is really sugary and yeasty, and liquor is just harsh on everything. You probably threw up quite a few times as well, the acid in vomit is horrible for your teeth.
