I read this today and it made me wonder "in residual-emergent models, any given economic system or historical moment is an unstable mix of past and future systems.Capitalism therefore was the combination of battleground of its residual element, feudalism, and it's emergent element-what?" ...

It sounds like you don't like academics because they are smarter than you.
They don't have to use hyperbole to make their point.
They don't have to disparage the poor to make their point.
They don't have to act like an uneducated old man to make their point.
They don't have to use pejorative terms to make their point.
They don't have to blindly hate someone who doesn't agree with them.
Man, it must be a boring life to be an "academic."

Then you need to piss off because socialism has been tried in the past and guess what? IT DIDN'T WORK.

if your asking for a flawless society then you know your asking for evidence that doesn't exist. No society is perfect. However time and time again throughout history it is shown that the more economically free a country is the more prosperity and overall wealth exists in said country.

Wealth for who?
everyone. This country is the wealthiest on the planet due to its belief in capitalism, we've strayed from that and now look where we're heading. But even now, if your 'poor' in this country your still in the richest 10% of people alive today.

First of all, .
Second of all, this is one of the most ridiculous arguments people can make. Stop comparing a global economic power to third world countries. That isn't how it works. If you're in a first world nation and are hungry and homeless, then your country is failing you. There is plenty of wealth in this nation, especially if we cut our military budget, to provide for all 320 million people in this country. Our politicians and 1% masters simply choose not to.

For what its worth i agree we should cut military spending drastically. Thats funny '1% masters,' thats too bad you let them control you like that. They don't effect me in anyway the government or the 1% hasn't done shit for me.

That is why they have groups like ALEC writing their legislation, to not effect you.

Maybe there are people who are failing themselves. And if there is plenty of wealth in this nation that means you have a chance to get it.
Face it, you sit around crying about 'the rich' and demanding a Teat to suckle on. Life is your master, you aren't master of your life. If you were, you would go out and get what you want. But it is easier to lay around, cry, and blame it on the people who have money right? Pathetic.

Every time you post, starfire, you solidify yourself in the camp that doesn't hate both parties, even though you claim to.

Schumpeter nailed it. The answer is democratic socialism.
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capitalism,_Socialism_and_Democracy
Ironically Schumpeter didn't believe in primitive accumulation and didn't subscribe to the residual-emergent model. In fact, Schumpeter seemed to be very unhappy with his forecast since he was a staunch capitalist. Even after The Great Depression he frantically held to Say's Law, never able to give it up despite the reality so obvious to most. It takes a real hard line capitalist to live through TGD and still believe in market clearing.
FYI the 'residual emergent model' is just newspeak for dialectical materialism.
