Sweetleaf Organics, it sounds better and has a better logo, I hate cheesy weed, paraphernalia, dispensary names.

Oh man, I wish it wasn't possible... but it very much is. Most growers these days are trying to maximize yields by giving the plants the exact mix of nutrients for each stage of their lives. This is usually accomplished via a multitude of hydroponic fertilizers. I don't want to name any specific products here, as I'm really not trying to bash on anyone, but a quick internet search for "hydroponic nutrients" should give you a good sense of how saturated the market is with these types of products. Some of them are organic, but most unfortunately are not.
Aquaponics is a completely natural closed-loop system where the fish waste is converted into nutrition for the plants, who in turn clean the water for the fish. The only input is fish food, which as I said earlier can be supplied by bugs (and supplemented with other stuff like Azolla and Duckweed).

I would love to get your opinion on the business name. The name has been narrowed down to three options:
I picked Sugarleaf Farms, it's just so dam wholesome-sounding.

yea i figured you were referring to hydro nutes, but what exactly makes one product not organic and what do you even mean by organic?

By "organic" they mean without pesticides or "chemicals" so that it is "natural" and therefore "better"

Don't be difficult
I would avoid using Organic in your name if you are not certified, the USDA may have a problem with that.

I understand your point SurReality. In a sense it's splitting hairs. But in another sense, it is a protection against companies like Monsanto and Dow Chemical who would have us believe that plants ONLY need NPK. In reality, plants have complex metabolisms (just like us humans) and need a living biology to grow well and be happy. Simple chemical derived fertilizers lack the subtlety of organic systems like aquaponics.
The other huge difference is with Pesticides/Fungacides/Herbacides/Rodenticides. "Conventional" farming employs a wide range of toxic chemicals (remember "DDT is good for MEEE"?) on their plants to prevent these "problems." Organic farmers may not use synthetic chemicals to fight off intruders. Many organic farmers employ beneficial microbes and insects instead.
Another difference (not applicable to me though) is with growth hormones. "Conventional" farmers may use antibiotics, growth-enhancing substances (steroids) and various artificial substances and modification methods to make their meat bigger. Organic farmers may not use these practices.
Here's the wikipedia article about organic certification: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organic_certification

Agreed. The reason I added it to the Sweetleaf name is that "Sweetleaf" is a very popular name. I wanted mine to be different. I actually called the WA State Liquor Control Board today to speak with them about it and they said that although the USDA won't be certifying farms organic, that the WADA would, so I think that I actually will be able to get organic certification.

you don't have to be certified to use the word Organic in your product, you just have to be certified to say you're certified.
i honestly never buy anything that uses the word organic for marketing purposes, because everything is organic. plus i can't stand stupid hippies/yuppies who don't understand that.

Not sure about the name but I like the logo, it's got a nice 1800s patent medicine kind of feel. T.H. Sweetleaf probably matches that theme the best out of those options. The hummingbird looks a little out of place though with that motif IMO, I would say go less cartoony and less color saturation.
