Waste of time and money 90% of the time. Either go to school and focus on one degree, or don't go at all

I haven't taken online courses before. What do you think you want to focus on in school? You could find a community college close by to where you live and take a few classes while goin' to work, too.

I have. The course I took wasn't exactly online, but this place offers a bunch of online courses. I believe they are a legitimate school, they are nationally accredited. The course I took was small engine repair, it was basically a study guide to prepare me for O.P.E (outdoor power equipment) exam. When I finished the book (at my own pace in my spare time), I found a proctor in my area that administered the exam. I passed and now I'm certified and work in the evenings after my regular job, right out of my own pole barn. Probably going to start doing this as full time soon. I actually have quite a bit of work coming in. I don't do too bad, I charge $20 an hour, cheaper than any repair shop.
But yeah, C.I.E (Cleveland Institute of Electronics) has a ton of other courses, a lot of electronic and technical courses if that's what you're looking for. Most of the courses look affordable too.

I took a few online classes. It was tough as you usually don't know any of your classmates and you've never met and probably will never meet the teacher in person. This makes them way less likely to bend the rules for you. The discussion board postings suck dick and I found it tough to figure out what the teacher wanted in their assignments. The only reason I did it was because I moved to colorado from florida at the beginning of my last semester and I learned there was some obscure part of the student code where you could take up to 6 credits from other graduate programs and have them apply to your degree.
My best advice is be EXTREMELY attentive to the syllabus to see what you are in for. Definitely look at group projects with suspicion.

I have taken quite a few online courses and I like them, because they are straight forward. I feel like some of my in person classes consisted of going to class to be told what your homework is. It's not any less work though, just make sure you choose a school that is accredited.
