Couple questions about half gallons...

How much do you increase the PC time for a half gallon versus a quart? I am thinking an hour and fifteen for supplemented sawdust at 15 PSI in half gallons. I do an hour for quarts.
I got some Pearl Oyster grain spawn coming from Aloha I need to expand out into sawdust a bit for use in totems. I am going to spawn it to lightly supplemented sawdust in half gallons. I will start them with the jars upright at 70F then once the spawn run takes off I will place the jars sideways and drop room temperature to 60-65F tops to prevent overheating. Should work nicely...
Maybe I am a little too cautious and need not worry about overheating with 70F room temp with pearls colonizing half gallons?

It may be just me, in which case i need to work on my times to increase daily production, but I tend to do all my grains and supplemented bags for at least 2 hours. Sometimes up to 2 and a half. I don't know why more people don't use half gallon jars for grains though. I find them amazing and eliminates opening too many jars as well as letting you spawn more bags per container. I think your worrying about temperature too much but then again you likely have way more colonizing in your room. I keep mine steady around 70-75 if thats even steady lol I find if the room gets any cooler my colonization times are much longer.

I am going to have about fifty quarts of spawn colonizing at a time continually through the winter. Mostly in quart jars, but half gallons are easier to deal with.
Lets just say... I have a LOT of trees I am slicing into wafers for totem inoculation. Need a lot of spawn.

Yeah I wouldn't worry about that, I don't think half gallon jars colonizing at 70f are going to overheat.

I have about 50 shiitake blocks all touching each other in my room and it's not yet been a problem. I'm working on getting time to construct racks to better accomodate them and save me a little space.
