Dude..just because somone hits your shit and doesn't leave a note, doesn't mean you should do it. Well you live and you learn, good luck an hope they don't try and hit you with a felony hit and run, that would really suck and at least no one was hurt. You might get a slap on the hand unless you live in a commonwealth state like me.

Dont fret, i take nothing on any forum personally, nothing is offencesive (that word looks weird) - at best its midly amusing
i've been here a few years and people still get surprised by the fact i'm a girl. i'm neutral on it.

I don't think it's unreasonable to think OP will be spending the night in jail.

If he's charged he's definitely going to jail. For how long depends on alot of variables. Prior record, the magistrate working at the time, if the give him a bond or release him on his own recognizance,if the owner presses charges and if he's in a commonwealth the state will prosecute.

This thread is full of a lot of butthurt do gooders. Shit happens some times you make good decisions sometimes you make bad decisions. Good to know the Shroomery is where the worlds "Karma Police" live so I can report here if I ever feel like I did something that might mean my "moral compass" is lacking.

--------
Hope OP is alright I don't wish jail or probation violation on anyone. I Have had several friends technically break probation that never got caught for it. Different jurisdictions don't always report to each other. Couple times they pushed their trials off until they were off one probation, ya know the whole innocent until proven guilty thing. One friend even just said fuck it all and never showed up for any of his cases. He did eventually spend half a night in jail once he was caught but the law was pretty nice to him and helped him work his shit out.

If he goes to jail they will definitely let him ROR. I don't think many jails have room for somebody involved in a minor fender bender.

They'll still let him go after a day or two, at least they will if it's anything like here.
I've failed like 10 drug tests for probation in a commonwealth, and they have yet to lock me up.
In my home state my dads on probation for a crack related offense, he got picked up for unpaid fines after my mom called the police on him for smoking crack and she told his po what he was doing and he still got out after a day.
My sister is on probation/a diversion program and she violated like 5-10 times, including catching multiple other charges, failing multiple drug tests, getting caught bringing in someone else's urine, etc... She finally got 6 months in prison only after being found guilty of domestic violence & theft. But that was after they let her off 10 other times.
My bro-in-law is on parole, he has failed multiple drug tests, stopped going to probation for months in a row multiple times, caught multiple new charges, etc... and he is still a free man.
And all three if them have extensive records.
It's pretty hard to go to jail nowadays IME.
Even if the OP has really bad luck and does wind up in jail he'll be out soon.

My best friend did 6 months for violating probation in a commonwealth on a Heroin paraphanelia charge. You can still go to jail quite easily in some places.

OP hasn't returned to defend his abhorrent behavior, so I guess the cops didn't believe his bullshit.
