Quick Coir Question--how much should one brick weigh?

About to do my first monotubs (I tried BRF cakes last fall and was very successful, just haven't had the time/money to do a larger grow yet). I plan on using Damion5050's elementary coir tek.
Here's my really dumb question--how much should one "brick" of coir weigh? I ask because I bought a 5kg package (it was cheaper to buy in bulk) and it's not cut into bricks. Some single bricks for sale on Amazon are 250g, but others are 650g. It LOOKS like a 650g brick in the pics, but I just want to be totally, 100% sure before I start so I can get the 1 Brick/2 Quarts Verm/5 Quarts Spawn ratio correct.
Thank you!

650g
using less coir and more spawn can get you more positive results when learning too.

The 5kg brick you bought is worth 20 250g bricks.. it's just gonna be a pain in the ass to divide it.
Now keep in mind, when people talk about a brick of coir they are generally referring to something like this.
Those bricks expand to 8-9 quarts of coir when hydrated.
So round it off:
8 quarts coir + 2 quarts verm = 10 quarts substrate
5 quarts spawn : 10 quarts substrate = 5:10 = 1:2 spawn ratio.
That's where the broad term "brick" comes from, and how it works. So what you need to know is in order to make that formula work with your giant 5 kg brick, you just have to hydrate little by little as you get 8 quarts of hydrated coir.
If you've never worked with coir, it can be deceivingly expansive. Start with a small chunk and work your way up. Once you work with it a time or two it's easier to tell what the small, dry brick will grow into.
Welcome to the wonders of coir!

When I say brick, I mean 650g of dry coir.
Just get a scale and weight out 650g chunks, and place in baggies.
Hydrate as needed.
