Cyanescens ?

Habitat: Found growing up from woodchips in a patch KNOWN to have copius amounts of Cyanescens, however have not been back this year with best friend whom is seasoned in identification and would like positive ID before i go and collect the 2+fresh pounds there are. These are fresh and have not withered yet, however most mushrooms there are about 1 week old :S
Gills: Cream/oker(yellow-white), attached, gills, I AM SPORE PRINTING RIGHT NOW ON TINFOIL WILL HAVE PICTURE IN LESS THAN ONE HOUR OF PRINTS
Stem: Length from base of stem to tip of stem(lowest point in convex), consistently 4-5.5cm, brown with dark nipple like formation in center, slimy on top,
Cap: Diameter never more than just over 5cm at widest point(of ovular caps, not all perfect circles), chesnut brown when wet fading to light brown when more dry, feels pretty sturdy, mostly circular caps(some ovular) all wavy as can be, convex,
Spore print color: CURRENTLY DOING SPORE PRINT AS WE SPEAK ON TIN FOIL
Bruising: NOTE no bruising noted yet, they are still wet and I picked them no more then 1 . 5 hours ago
Other information: Growing in massive colony on wood chips happiest inside bushes!
Please halp me!!! will postt more pictures

Not cyans
Cyans will have very noticeable blue brusing

Cream gills should be a dead giveway that it's not active. There aren't very many that have them.

At least he confused them for another woodchip dwelling, cold weather species, and not P. cubensis like almost every person who posts ID requests of them here...

But it would be fun to make them waste time and money testing for indole alkaloids in honey mushrooms before they're eventually identified as a reasonably popular edible msuhroom.

You'd almost have to just wink at them when they gave you the news.

I've never heard of anyone drying honey mushrooms. If you're going to eat them, they should be thoroughly cooked though.

They dry ok. Soak in warm water for 5 min before cooking.
They aren't one of those mushrooms which are just as good rehydrated though, but as with so many which are frequently so seasonably abundant that you couldn't begin to do them justice while they are out, you can't really hurt to save some aside that way.

A little advice for the future? If you think you've found actives DO NOT POST PICTURES OF YOURSELF WITH THEM ON THE INTERNET! Shrooms are schedule one buddy, you could get locked up for a long time.
Assume LEO is watching, and know the internet is forever. You got lucky here.

Also it's less rude if you don't hijack someone else's thread and start your own.
