Ten Easy Steps to Excellent Health
    #19100213 - 11/07/13 12:18 PM (10 years, 2 months ago)

1. Get distilled or reverse osmosis water. No more drinking tap water.

2. Add real lemon juice to every glass of water you drink. This will alkalize your internal body chemistry.

3. Eat at least one salad a day with mixed organic vegetables.

4. Put apple cider vinegar on that salad as a dressing. It tastes great, alkalizes your body and has many health benefits.

5. Once a day (in the evening before bed if your worried about your breath) peel and chew one raw clove of garlic. Chew it as long as you can. As you chew inhale through the mouth and exhale through the nose. This will circulate the allicin throughout your entire respiratory tract. Once the burning becomes unbearable, take a mouthful of water. Swish the garlic and water around in your mouth like mouth wash, then gargle it, finally swollow. This will do wonders for preventing and treating colds, flus and infections of all kinds, and will give you a clean mouth.

6. Take D vitamin every day.

7. Take magnesium supplement every day.

8. Drink one cup of organic white tea every day. It reduces all cause mortality by as much as 25% in men and 30% in women.

9. Drink one cup of organic raw cacao every day. It reduces all cause mortality by as much as 50%.

10. Exercise every day to the point of perspiration.

Be careful with too much lemon juice. I used to eat lemons all the time and it took a toll on my teeth, took a lot of money to reverse

i also think this only works if dont already eat too much sugar, i think i remember reading sugar will cause it it be acidy

edit: its also adviseable to drink citrus water through a straw if you do it every day, because its harsh on your teeth

Yes I certainly could , but at present I won't .

And yes , drinking acidic lemon juice makes your body more alkaline . Sane with acidic apple cider vinegar , it makes you more internally alkaline.

Likewise eating alkaline steak makes your body more acidic .

Drinking undiluted lemon juice and apple cider vinegar will also fuck up the enamel on your teeth.

Edit:  I obviously didn't read anything in this thread except the last post before I posted.

Essentially your body loves motherfucking citrus fruits and will convert that shit to alkaline a+ goodness.

But in scientific terms:

Citric acid is a weak acid, citric acid promotes the formation of CaCo3 (Calcium Carbonate for those who don't know chemistry) which neutralizes the acid and promotes an alkaline state. The minerals in the fruits such as lemon also promote the alkaline state. The combo results in achieving a more alkaline state despite eating something acidic.

However, this doesn't remain true for stronger acids.

No.

Also, I'd like to point out is that you ARE NOT CHANGING YOUR BLOOD pH. At best you're changing the pH of your piss (which can help prevent kidney stones from forming)

But... there really isn't a whole lot of evidence that an alkaline heavy diet is even beneficial aside from that, really. There could be, but its hard to pinpoint such things.

Your pH is regulated entirely by your body and I think its like 7.3 pH.. just SLIGHTLY alkaline. I know it can go up a bit more, but not much higher than that.

No it does not apply to any acidic foods or drinks.

But lemon juice and apple cider vinegar are both very healthy to eat and both promote a state of alkalinity.

Check if your city flouridates water. If they do then you dont want to drink it. Even if they dont flouridate they probably chlorinate you water, and you dont want to be drinking either flouride or chlorine. Most tap water also contains human hormones, estrogen, pharmaceutical and industrial byproducts.

Quote:

Fluoride is not added to drinking water in the HSY region. The fluoride content of drinking water produced from surface water is about 0.1 mg/l, which is a minimal level in terms of dental benefits. According to the Decree of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health Relating to the Quality and Monitoring of Water Intended for Human Consumption, the maximum allowable fluoride content in drinking water is 1.5 mg/l.

Quote:

Water treatment plants add bound chlorine to the water to ensure that its microbiological quality remains good in the water supply network. The amount of chlorine added to tap water is about 0.35–0.5 mg/l. Chlorine is consumed in the water supply network, and the content decreases gradually.

Chlorine keeps better in cold than hot water. Due to this, the chlorine content is often higher in the winter than in the summer. In the Helsinki Metropolitan Area, the total chlorine content in tap water is usually about 0.03–0.5 mg/l.

it's all fine for you, but in principle it's kinda shabby. you can have a better water supply, just depends, what are the priorities? probably not in spending money for helpful things, because... it costs money, and we want to make more money, for cars... and cheeseburgers.

Its great that there is no flouride added to your water. That makes it OK to drink in my opinion. However if you take your tap water and boil it down until it evaporates you will see a sand-like residue left in the glass when all the water has boiled away. That is a mishmash of things you dont want to ingest but which you drink in each glass of water. Try it sometime and then eat the sand like residue with a spoon. If you can't bring yourself to eat that sandy residue, you dont want to be drinking tap water.

well, yeah, but still... the small things that might not have any effects in the short term, might have effects in the long term, and it's better to be safe then sorry, as the saying goes.

so just ignoring facts, might be useful in the short term, because it might not be important in the short term... in the long term spectrum of effects however...

It's going to depend on where you are though. I prefer bottled to tap any day regardless

Like I said, you need to find out if your water has flouride added. If it does not have added flouride, it is ok but not optimal to drink. If flouride is added, it is not safe to drink. There are different kinds of flouride that they add to water in different places, some much worse than others, but you should not drink any flouridated water. I will drink unflouridated tap water without concern though. Even so distilled water or reverse osmosis water with lemon is much more optimal and delicious.

waht's the point?

http://www.cancer.org/cancer/cancercauses/othercarcinogens/athome/water-fluoridation-and-cancer-risk

here. i'll keep posting more, because this won't be sufficiant.

besides, like i said, this isn't the issue here... it's the principle that's the issue. you want your water treatment to be as GOOD AS POSSIBLE, not just OK.

and guess what it isn't as good as it could be. so lets fuckin argue about it.

Yeah if you cant understand that 100 percent pure water is more desirable than water that has fluoride, chlorine, pharmaceutical byproducts, chemical and industrial residues, etc.... then enjoy your tap water.

Probably because the link you posted does not support your claim at all.

:blah: missing the point. the point is... let say it again, really loud and clear. the principle.

THE PRINCIPLE is that people want totally clean water, not with no toxic precipitants in it WHAT SO EVER.

so i don't really care about studies... no one is gonna be able to connect a wide scale use of tap water with any particular diseases in any particular location, because that is simply too much work.

bottled water is horrible for the environment plus plastic seeps into the water, giving it a not only slightly off taste, but also ends up getting into your system; can lead to degenerative disease of your body.

That's a shame. I demand a new republic, one where peoples of all race, size and religion have access to nothing but the purest of pure water. And no plastic shall be involved.

But srsly no matter what kind of water you're drinking, at least you're drinking water not 10 cans of soda like so many people do

I am always amazed when people think the choice is between tap water and bottled water. It isnt. Both are bad.

You should buy your own 20 liter jugs and fill them up at the reverse osmosis water vendor at a grocery store, or buy your own high quality water filter for your tap, or buy a distiller and distill your own water at home.

Reverse osmosis water and distilled water are good, bottled water and tap water are bad.

Seems legit to me, although I'm starting to wonder why everybody has a beef with tap water this week. You'r elike the fifth person to tell me not to drink it. Have I been poisoning myself all these years???

That being said, I really need to start drinking tea.

My tap comes straight from a well.  So its pumped like 100 feet down below and into some filtration system before it hits our faucet.

Im not on city water at all.  What do you think of that kind of tap water?

the plastic. the plastic will be in the water and distilling it won't remove it. if anything it'll consolidate it and possibly aerosolize the plastic compounds.

oh i misread that. boiled tap water, will still release compounds into the air, and will not remove all sediment and compounds. it will reduce it though, enough to make it technically "healthier".

Just to be clear, what I recommend is buying your own 18.9 liter jugs, bringing them to safeway or other grocery store, filling them up at the reverse osmosis water vendor, and bringing them home. Add lemon juice and drink. Do not drink tap water, and do not buy bottled water.
