Picking stones

Tried to fruit some alt 7 in 26qt mini mono tub. I failed, but now I have a container busting full of truffles. My question is can I leave them in the container until I need them or because it is in a unsealed container do I need to pick them?

If the grow "failed" for whatever reason, it will eventually contaminate, and likely not long from now. Truffle metabolism is faster in the fresh air of a chamber, which is why they form and grow so much more quickly, so you may want to pick them and toss the sub before they sense death and begin to deteriorate. Don't know when that will be, it will be different every time. Sometimes they could sit for a month if they don't contaminate or rot. The thing to remember is: if the substrate is still healthy, the sclerotia are still healthy.

Hey I've noticed on here nobody ever says much about fruiting outdoors with truffle producers even when we had warmer weather. What about an outdoor grow violet "depending on the weather in your area"?

I included some pictures of my sub. This failed tub has been sitting four close to four months, not including the 2 months or so I gave it to fruit. After they failed to fruit I put it back into my closet and it hasn't been disturbed until the other day. I dug up on of the stones on the left hand corner, and it was huge compared to what I normally get, at 26g. The portion of the sub I dug into was dry as dust. It literally crumpled in my hand digging the stone. The deal is I won't need them for some time as I have a supply already. Is it possible that the sub has lost almost all it's humidity and I can leave them without them spoiling. The stone I pulled broke apart pretty easy so they aren't dries yet. Any ideas?

I've fruited them outdoors a couple of times. They fruit readily outdoors in the right environment.

You can leave the sclerotia in your substrate until it eventually succumbs to mold. If it's in the tub for four months I don't think much longer though.
