After going through a sleeve of petri dishes I've had no success of healthy mycelium growth or even a chance to transfer any at all and im also out of spores and fruits to use
SO I WAS THINKING
I have a fully colonized wbs jar that's been sitting around for a while so since I'm out out everything i can possibly use to grow on agar, why not take a grain from the colonized wbs jar and do it that way?
It looks to me like healthy mycelium but i could be wrong?

I take grains from my G2G jars after transfers all the time.
I do a G2G transfer, then take one jar, and get one grain that stuck in the jar.
Place a couple on a few dishes and they should grow.
Shake the jar and take some grains lol.

yea i thought about that but before i do so, I've been having alot of pin/ cobweb contaminants in my petri dishes and that jar smells sorta sour which is why i haven't used it, so i wanted to make sure that whats visible on the picture does look like healthy mycelium and not pin/cobweb.

Not every grain will be contaminated....this is why we take multiple grains on multiple dishes.
Looks healthy to me.

so i took your advice and put some grains on multiple petri's and they look fantastic! no sign of contams at all! Which suprised and confused me because every monotub i've tried colonized great with fast results but by the time of full colonization they all got some green in them?? and i cant think of why? i used co co core which is supposed to be sterile and i pasteurized it correctly with a meat thermometer

As soon as you opened the package it became unsterile....
You did good when you pasteurized it....
