Second chamber of my Mushroom House I filed with with 112 buckets 5kg, 66 buckets 10kg and 12 bags 3kg. I'm exhausted, tomorrow I'm going to clean up a bit and sprinkled the room with lime water. I made about 1 ton of material. How much percentage I should expect to collect mushrooms? I fill buckets with straw Aloha Lime method.

I like your style... Go big or go home! LoL...
Curious, how is air in the room refreshed? What is the outdoor humidity? I don't see any vents/fans in that picture.

Nice work!
Its a pain in the ass isn't it! lol!
Just wait till you get to dump all that out and clean those buckets... Again...

As far how many mushrooms you will get, I can't speculate, but it's going to be a LOT!

im getting about 7% yield per flush (5lbs per 70lb log), so I would guess 140lbs first flush, and two more after that of about equal size

Nice snakebite. What type of oyster you growing?
Also its easier if you use dry weight to estimate your yields. Take the total dry weight of the straw and you should be able to get %50-100 of that weight in fresh mushrooms if you go for 3+ flushes. Best of luck

Gotta disagree there. All the commercial farmers I know including me work purely on wet yield. I know what a log weighs so i know how many mushrooms I am looking at. Dont care how much dry material is in there.
Greys should give you 22-26% total yield in 2 possibly 3 flushes. Ideally 2 so you can get em out and get fresh in. So if its a metric Ton you will get 200-260kg of mush in total.
If you are looking to sell you would be better putting in 1/4 a week then with your flushes 2 weeks apart you get a continuous (ish) flow.

Yeah, I broke my balls. It is not so hard work but i have problem with my back a little bit... When I use all the substrate, a friend of mine who raises rainbow worm would take to use.

To each their own; but BE% is always calculated using dry substrate to wet mushrooms. This way if someone used %50 moisture content and another uses %75 moisture content, you can still get reliable estimates that are stable across the board. How much mass of substrate(dry) is related to yield, not how much water is in the substrate(wet weight), which always varies from grower to grower.

snakebite: you're really going to regret this one shot approach to oysters. do smaller amounts every day, unless you have someone who will buy all of those at once.

Another note: what size are your holes? I experimented as well as read and questioned others to find that smaller holes make it much easier to break off clusters. I settled on 3/8" and it is perfect! Hell maybe even more 1/4" holes would make for a larger qty of slightly smaller bouquets but either way the larger holes dont seem to snap off so easy as they are rooted by more surface area to the substrate. Also I'm sure they retain more moisture with smaller holes so you don't have to worry about rehydrating in the future. Oh and I asked for pics on anotehr thread, dont worry about that one! lol I've been away and always jump to the threads i'm already posting on before hitting the new ones :P Keep it up! Your enthusiasm is proving promising!

The holes are 15mm, bigger than your suggestion, but I think there will be no problem. In the room I installed system moistening the air. I'm not sure about the bouquets, maybe the big holes will be a problem.
