Could anyone post a pic of some dried cyans they have? A I'm drying mine in a wooden box, lined with paper and cracked open slightly, but I'm not sure when to throw them in a jar..can't explain how grateful I am for everyone's help!

If you use the search function you should be able to find quite a bit of info about drying and storing the goods. Lay them out in front of a fan for a couple days then put them in a desiccate/damprid chamber. Or get your hands on a food dehydrator, usually on a low/lowest setting.. You want them "cracker dry" before you put them in a jar. You should hear a "snap" when you break the stipe.
Congrats on the find.

I always pinch-pick them. Scissors are a good idea but a pain to have on you always. Pinching them carefully, as not to pull them out of the ground, has actually helped me in separating cyanescens from look-alike species. I now KNOW the consistency and texture to the touch and it's a valuable tool.

enclosing them, even a little is counter productive to drying.
you can enclose them in a container with desiccant, but you will either need a very large proportion of desiccant to mushrooms, or for the mushrooms to be almost completely dry before hand.
next time, consider spreading them out on newspaper, cardboard, etc in the open in an indoors area.

Counter productive? Actually it says on this site if you cant use a dehydrator/oven etc. To put them in a drawer lined with paper..I also don't use scissors, I pinch pick, the scissors thing was just me saying I won't pick the mycelium anymore. Well if I oped the lid of the box and just let them coninue drying they should be good yes? Alright cracker dry, thank you.

Fans are ideal. If you need it to be stealthy, I would recommend blowing a fan on them, preferable with a heater behind it, on them whenever the coast is clear for an hour or two. It will dry them much much faster.

No fan..but I can turn the heater on. Walmart has DampRid (supposedly organic?) For $3, if I put that in the room or on the table near them, should that help?

Yes, counterproductive. You are deliberately putting them in conditions which inhibit drying, causing it to take longer than it should were you not to do so. If you can think of a better definition of counterproductive I'd love to hear it.

If you want a handy out of the way enclosed drying solution, you can build a little box with a computer case fan built into it very easily, and for almost no money. That approach will speed drying, despite being enclosed.

Still Cyans - these are little less dried.
Also 1 GR is the cracker dry weight they are suggesting you eat.
I would maybe do 1.3 g or so...to ensure you feel it :P

That'll do it, unless it's a heat only model with a pretty high heat output. Then you might need to hack it, like I had to do with mine back in the day.

if the air coming off the top feels hot, it's too hot. if it feels warm, it's probably ok.
if it's too hot, and it does not have a no-heat setting, then you can remove power from the element, but it requires a basic competence modifying mains voltage circuits. It's very easy, but not necessarily safe for one who doesn't comfortably understand basic electricity.
