What are some amazing guitar player's that you have been into lately? I always get into something and obsess over it until I know it like the back of my hand until I discover some other amazing talented player that I haven't dug into yet.
Lately I've been really into John Frusciante and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
John Frusciante-The Past Recedes
John Frusciante-Time Tonight
SRV-Pride and Joy Acoustic
SRV-Voodoo Chile Cover

Some people think he is over rated but RHCP and the Frusc will always have a special place in my heart

I always thought he was under rated
When I listen to his solo shit I don't compare it to RHCP at all though so maybe that's why. Everyone probably just considers him RHCP when they hear his name
I like listening to his interviews as well. I feel like nobody really understands him but I feel like I can relate to him very well

Yeah I could see that. Every time his name comes up in "Best Guitarist" conversations someone always ends up saying he's over rated, at least in my experience.
His solo stuff is really good, I wasn't digging his last album though, it being all electronic and what not.
And yeah he seems like a really interesting dude. Have you seen the interview he did for that movie "The heart is a drum machine"? Really fascinating interview.

Jimi hendrix, he didnt even know how to read music. All he did was take acid and play.

Well of course, but it's like, not even fair to compare Hendrix to everyone else. SRV could do such an awesome cover of a Hendrix tune, man.

I agree about Stevie being awesome though, his cover of little wing is great! but it ain't Jimi.
I also love Tony Iommi, Jimmy Page, Brent Hinds, among others.

Dave Matthews
Eric Clapton
Jerry Garcia
Jimi Hendrix
Steve Howe
Eddie Van Halen
Omar Rodríguez-López
Synyster Gates (love them or hate them Avenged Sevenfold they can play the hell out of a crowd.)
Kirk Hammet
Dave Navarro
John Frusciante
Tom Morello
Steve Vai (people might not like him but he is a prodigy of Frank Zappa and a excellent guitar player.)
SRV (here is a song you will never duplicate on a guitar.)
Ritchie Blackmore
David Gilmour
Kyle Gass (I believe they both play this riff at the same time, but still a very solid riff I am guessing Kyle thought of it)

Oh yeah I loved that interview!!
Jimi Hendrix taking a lot of acid really isn't that true. I've read so many biographies on him. Yeah he did indulge but not as much as everyone thinks he did
