Isolate Tomentose?
    #19096385 - 11/06/13 04:56 PM (10 years, 2 months ago)

I know this sounds ridiculous but the thought came to mind and honestly I'm curious as to how it would work out come colonization/fruiting time. Please excuse my lack of knowledge in this department as I figured some community debate is always a good way to get some good base line info.

I understand that rizo myc is the more vigorous growing of the 2 but is there any study/evidence as to if tomentose myc in the long run, let us say if isolated, would produce lower quality/yield/potency mushrooms? Or is it simply the slower growing of the 2?

I dont wanna call it just yet but I believe through my fiddling around with agar I've in the long run maybe isolated some tomentose growth over rizo growth due to my initial lack of experience... Seems like one of my more recently plates has up and made a nice unsectored circle but of more fluffy myc... I took a pic but im using 1/2 pint wide mouth jars and plastic lids right now as my agar work containers so taking a clear pic thru the glass isnt the easiest thing to do... Maybe if enough discussion is made I'll post a pic to see what folks think.
