Trying to grow morel sclerotia, atypical/unexpected growth so far.

Hello there.
I've been trying out morel spores on agar, and got something odd in one dish:
Nothing visible inside the agar, but very fine threads with a length of roughly 1.5 cm on the surface, growing in all directions.
The thing is, there's no visible sporangia anywhere, and the growth doesn't match the contamination from a previous tainted batch (Rhizopus).
Question is, is it plausible that there's actually morel mycelium growing, and if so, what'd be the first signs to identify it for sure? 'Cause I'd prefer to plant it on other dishes sooner rather than later, before any potential other spores in there have time to grow.

post pics to confirm but it sounds like cobweb mold in your agar though.

Crap cobweb in a petri, that's fucked didn't know it could happen. Thought it needed lots of damp moist still air.

Thanks for your reply.
I'm afraid I got no photo, there's not much visible even with max. zoom.
Yeah, it sort of looks like cobweb, but wouldn't that one need a host in form of growing mycelium first? Again, nothing visible inside of the agar.

cobweb is mycelium and the host is the agar. Check your sterile procedure and try again.
For pics, type cobweb in the search bar and see if anything matches what you have.

Okay, thanks. Thought it'd need a living host for cobwebs to form. Apparently not.
