They don't work forever

My 4 yr old cheapo PC did pretty good for a cheapo PC that got used very frequently. I heard a funny noise last night prepping up some agar. WTF is that? Then it dawned on me - PC. All I could think of was 'tick, tick, tick,' and Wile E Coyote goes up in flames. 'Here it comes' I predicted. Before I could turn the heat off, do a duck and cover, or get farther out of the way ... KA-WOOSH !!! Impressive. Unwilling to trust it any more, I'm off to get another PC. Shit always happens when you don't need it to. I got the Halloween Special coming from Ralph, and I want to cook a roast.
Peace, FT

Always nice to upgrade! Good to hear nobody got hurt. My PC scared the shit out of me when I used it the first few times.
You can probably keep using the old one if you get a new seal and pressure safety plug; I'm guessing that's what gave up?

It seems like the gasket is giving out but I can't see anything wrong with it. Quite a bit of play in the lid. She's stretched. Since I'm on lay off, money talks, so I picked up your run of the mill Wallyworld cheapo 34 dollar 8 qt. Did not work out of the box. Junk. Returned it immediately. Shopped around and got a Presto cheapo 8 qt for 35 dollars on sale at Sears. Leaps and bounds over Wally's product. And to top it all off, Ralph said 'Hi' today. Judging by the way this one operates, I don't think the last one worked very well. I lost a lot of water with the last one. This one loses nary a drop. And it came with a handy trivit. I got off pretty good for cheap I think. We'll see. Some day, a really nice pressure cooker. Santa can you hear me?
Peace, FT

Santa says to look in the marketplace. There are deals to be had that will be guaranteed to last a lifetime.

Ugg, that's dangerous business! Good to hear you are okay. I can't believe stuff like that still happens.
I just jumped into the whole mycology thing and got a 200$ kuhn rikon which may have been a little bit irresponsible but I do use it a lot now for cooking + mushrooms (and possibly the two together).
