I'm considering buying a flowhood. I have no interest in building my own.
Is Fungi Perfecti the only reputable company that sells these things?

not sure. i built mine with a 2ftx2ft filter i found online for like 85 bux and a blower for like 80 or so. wood cost me like 30 cause i got some nice maple if i remember correctly.
im not the best at constructing things. it was easy enough i guess, but also, a pain enough that if i had the money i would of proly just went with a sure thing minus the labor involved.
this dude is selling his on the Marketplace. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/19085962

You can sometimes find them on ebay or craigslist, but those are usually larger work stations that have been previously used and they are pricey to ship if needed. FP's flow hoods are pricey compared to building one on your own, but at least you know you're getting a brand new, well built unit that should last virtually forever.

Yeah, I saw that. I prefer sending my money to a reputable company or at least someone I know.
I would like to build one, but I just don't have the space, tools, or desire.
My main source of transport is a motorcycle and I live in an apartment. I have a good job and buying one seems worth it.
If someone with a good reputation gave me model number or a link to the particular filter and blower they bought, I would reconsider making one.
But, generally people just give links to websites where I can go shopping or give instructions how to build one. I have seen and read all that. It's not enough for my feeble mind.
I know I want it to be at least a 24x24

Yeah Fooman, your right. If I'm gonna drop the big bucks, I need to have the confidence that it's well built and to mycology specs.

Okay. So a friend is going to let me use his tools and workshop to build a flowhood.
Now the sucky part, finding a filter and blower. I've been on this adventure before. The reason it sucks is because soooo many of the filters and blowers don't have specs.
I would like to be able to find a combo that I think works, post it on here, and ask if it works.
Can anyone help me out here?

Flowhood cabinet is poorly designed. There is no information. That video is completely useless. I'm just being honest.

That's cool. No big rush. I know how to build it. It's that whole damn matching blower to filter thing.
It would be awesome if someone could just tell me the model numbers of the ones they used. I'm tired of trying to understand. For some reason I'm just stupid about it.

I'll search through your threads and see if I can find what model of blower and filter you used.

DeadPhan said: Are these inline fans? If so how do you propose to fit them in you flowhood? One way or another it's gonna make for a mighty extra amount of weight and proly size as well. My filter is 24x24 n my 435 cfm inline works just right for it. But my filter is also 12 inches thick. http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/hurricane%C3%82%E2%84%A2-inch-inline-fan-435-cfm-p-3802.html

He describes the dimensions, the materials, and how he went about making it. mind elaborating on how the cabinet is poorly designed?
I don't think you watched the video, and you're being kind of pretentious considering you are saying it's a shitty build providing no reasoning, and not paying any attention to what's being said in the video.
Just being honest!

I believe you are trying to help and I apologize for insulting your video.
My OP was about places that sell flowhoods. Now that I have a place to make one, the thread has evolved to "finding a blower/filter combo that's right."
I've done the searching before and I get confused. The help I need is links or model numbers to the combo you use or recommend. In the meantime, I will continue my search and post possible combos for peer revue.
I'm considering the one's on FP because I know they would be right. But I feel like they may be over the top or over priced.
DeadPhan, thanks for the reply. I'm still combing your posts for additional info. Nice photo gallery by the way.
