I did shrooms and I saw the ground breathing. It was moving up and down like the whole earth was taking breaths. Has anyone experienced something similar? I suspect it was my head moving up and down as I breathed that made it appear that the ground was moving, but it was still really cool and kind of spiritual. Anyone see anything similar? Is this a common hallucination?

You sound underage and like you didn't really do shrooms, just sayin. Anyway, yes breathing is part of the visuals... but there is much more.

Saw the walls breathing earlier today. Tried to play pool but the damn balls kept moving. Watching the pool table had some interesting looking myan drawings breathing on it too.

Sounds like a lower dose mushroom trip to me. It get's crazier, breathing is usually a good sign your dose is kicking in tho!

Objects breathing is one of my favorite aspects of tripping. I'll never forget the first time I saw it. I could not for the life of me figure out why the couch was pulsating haha

I completely understand the breathing visuals, which is basically the most open-eye visuals one can get, as most everybody knows.

This comment shouldn't even be allowed to exist. The only dose is the dose you feel comfortable taking. I've been to other dimensions on incredibly high doses of various substances. However, these days I only do lighter trips. There's a certain novel and spiritual value to blasting away into another dimension, but when it comes to true mind expansion, the only way to really learn from your trips it to be able to recall most everything from your trips, and meditate on it. Which is something that is near impossible to do with heroic doses.
Heroic doses can also be incredibly dangerous if the person taking it is inexperienced (which is sounds like he/she is).
That said, yes breathing is a common occurrence. For me it's the first visual I experience. As I dive deeper into the psychedelic I'll experience morphing, objects coming to life, shifting colors, swirling solids, mother of pearl surfaces covering textures, textures flowing into each other, patterns swirling, etc.

I'll stay away from heroic doses for now, thanks.
OP, wait until you see trees breathing. That's the stuff.

I don't think it's a competition. Like Empire said, the right dose is the dose that works for you.

I usually see the ground breathe on mushrooms, as well as walls, tables, furniture, trees...
I also noticed that I usually see a shifting essence of life hanging off the grass, writhing around like the energy of natural creation. It was pretty awesome to see!

I love when you can watch the trees grow. They seem to infinitely grow without getting any bigger. It's such a crazy mind-fuck. It reminds me of watching those gifs that rapidly invert colors and appear to be infinitely scrolling without moving anywhere.

I get this "growing" effect a lot on mushrooms too, and trees make it very interesting! A lot of my hallucinations on psilocybin are very reminiscent of growing and shrinking objects in Alice in Wonderland, thus I named it the "Alice effect". It's one of my favorite things to see on psilocybin!
