Is there a healthier option than butane for a cigarette lighter? I want to refill this novelty lighter i have.
It produces a blue/green flame, is that dangerous to smoke with? If you guys help me I promise to stop posting for the night and give you guys a break from me

Not that I know of, and it's fine to smoke with.
They have stuff like hempwick, and ceramic lighters though fro smoking bowls/bongs.
Also tazers work for cigs/joints/blunts.

Wikipedia said: Inhalation of butane can cause euphoria, drowsiness, narcosis, asphyxia, cardiac arrhythmia, fluctuations in blood pressure, temporary memory loss and frostbite, which can result in death from asphyxiation and ventricular fibrillation. Butane is the most commonly misused volatile substance in the UK, and was the cause of 52% of "solvent related" deaths in 2000.[11] By spraying butane directly into the throat, the jet of fluid can cool rapidly to −20 °C by expansion, causing prolonged laryngospasm.[12] "Sudden sniffer's death" syndrome, first described by Bass in 1970,[13] is the most common single cause of "solvent related" death, resulting in 55% of known fatal cases.[12]

The color is an indication of the temperature.
Butane burns very clean. Look at the chemical formula for its combustion,
C4H10 + O2 -> CO2 + H2O
The only products are carbon dioxide and water. (Note that its carbon dioxide, not monoxide)
To make sure that you are not sucking down un-combusted reactants use the tip of the flame where all the butane has burned away already. And of course dont roast your bowl more than you have too, just get it lit and then take the flame away.

that has nothing to with wha we're talking about here, that's talking about inhaling large amounts of straight butane.
The tiny bit of butane you may get in your lungs is going to have minimal to no effect on you.
If you're still worried about it use one of three other examples I've already mentioned.

The bowl on my pipe is so large and deep that it's hard to get the tip to whip over and I basically have to lightly scorch it each time I have other pieces I could use, pipes are just so convenient though.
Perhaps I'll just get a smaller one

I'm thinking that a "torch" type lighter probably burns the butane more completely since it's a hotter flame.

Makes sense to me. With more oxygen you get a hotter flame and more completely combust the butane

Hippie nonsense. A hemp wick is going to have loads of junk coming off it. Butane burns clean.
