cakes seem to be doing really bad compared to bulk tray
    #19091272 - 11/05/13 05:23 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

i'm not sure if this is because manure is more favourable for mushrooms or if the tray is sucking up moisture of something but my tray seems to be doing a million times better than the 5 cakes, so far its been a week and only one has fruited- here are some god awful pictures

also, how do i know when the veils are going to break and does anyone know how big cambodians get?

thanks a lot shroomery, this has been a real blast
now onto agar and grains!

You will see them tear apart from the cap.

And fruit size is dependant upon moisture content and genetics.

Asking how big a certain varieties fruits will get is like asking how tall your toddler is going to be.

There is no way to know for sure....multispore is always a crapshoot, no matter what name some vendor gave some group of spores.

Just watch them closely. It's a matter of hours between almost tearing and completely torn. You want to pick them somewhere in that timeframe but being a little late won't do too much at all. I once gave a friend of mine some shrooms whose veil broke days ago and he said they were just fine. Don't stress about it too much. Great job by the way!

Your post was awesome

Any way I've never had great pinning with cakes, how often are you fanning and what's your lighting for your FC?

How's your humidity level as well?

don't worry too much about humidity your fruits look fine, the humidity that mattes is whats on the surface of your substrate weather it be the beads of moisture on your tray or the glisten on your cakes, thats te 100% humidity where it matters most and also where a hygrometer can't measure:cool:
