What's your guys thoughts on MMLP 2 now that it's been released today (entire cd leaked online a few days ago) I think it's a great compilation of songs, and he seems to have that fire back. The more I hear it the more I like it, and I always hear something new each time I listen. Posted a couple new songs, enjoy!

I love the album. Admittedly, when it was first leaked, I was disappointed with it. I listened to the whole thing throughout. I've been giving it a few more listens though, and it does have some really good songs on it. Some are just so-so for me, but I'd say it's definitely a quality album. It's much better than Relapse and Recovery, lyrically & substance-wise, in my opinion. Dope album

I have it but only quickly ran through the first half of the album or so. I need to go through it in its entirety and see how I feel about it.

Same for me.
Other than Rap God and Rhyme or Reason I haven't played any songs in full more than once.
What I have heard from it (and about it), it definitely is a unique Eminem album. He rips on himself extensively in Evil Twin, if I remember correctly. Which shows some real self-awareness he never seemed to have.
He's at a really weird spot in his career though. He'll probably never be as big as he once was, nor will his songs have the same impact they once did. But it's not because he's not talented, it's just expected from him. So when he drops an album filled with good lyricism, no one cares because it's not the excellent verbal dexterity he is known to be capable of. At least that's how I feel.

Damn for real? I mean I know music is subjective and all that jazz but I'm pretty damn sure the Marshall Mathers LP is untouchable as far as Em albums go

I disliked it. The first song was a strong opening for sure, but... c'mon, Rihanna? Skylar Grey? This ain't rap no mo, it's pop... fuckin radio music.
He said that he'd put down the mic when he got shitty, and he'd never sell out. I guess everybody makes false promises.

I agree a lot with what you're saying. It's hard for him to top himself, though.
He should have quit after Encore. Who cares if it was shitty? The three other LPs kind of countered it. But personally I think he was trying to kill his career on Encore. The hints are all there.
But now he's like 40 years old. He lost his anger and passion. Now he's rapping just to rap. I think what he's trying to do with his new songs is be more "artistic". That's the vibe I get anyway.
Honestly though, I never thought Eminem would sell out. That's not shady.

Exactly. He is - literally is 40 years old. He's had lyrics in numerous past songs claiming he'd quit rapping if he ever lost his touch. That time went and past.

How can you possibly put his latest album above everything else?

Yep, I agree. He still has dope ass skills and seems to implement new ways to rhyme as his career has aged, but it's just not the same. The MM LP was so fucking raw. You can hear it in every verse, every word.
I think after he exploded that hunger and raw emotion left. To his defense though I'd imagine that hunger would be pretty hard to find when you went from nothing to having like 100 mil in the bank account.

The more I listen, the more I think this CD is classic and deserves a spot in his top 3 albums for sure. If not purely for its massive display of lyrical talent. Updated OP with couple different songs.
