Protein powder
    #19091053 - 11/05/13 04:41 PM (10 years, 2 months ago)

Any of you use protein products?

Right now I have Dymatize Iso 100 hydrolyzed whey protein isolate.
It seems really good, tastes great with any fruit/PB/icecream I mix with it. but do you have better? I'm ordering more soon, will probably get the same thing unless someone can convince me to get another one.

Here's some pics so maybe someone smarter than myself can tell me how good this product looks from just its facts.

Used to just use Gold Standard whey from Optimum Nutrition. Most of the fancier proteins are gimmicks really, so I just stuck with that stuff cuz it did just as well as any other higher priced protein and didn't taste like shit.

The best protein supplement I've ever used though actually was somethin called GEAR, but it was actually capsules, not powder.

horleys ice whey is the best

but you also need to consider what type of protein you want. whey protein concentrate - slow release (breakfast and before bed), or whey protein isolate - fast release (after a workout). or even a mix of the two.

me personally i dont really like protein powders, and think they have other types of chemicals and stimulants mixed into them. my general rule is to do everything naturally. because i think supplements are not sustainable in the long run, and while they give you a short term boost, in the long run, you lose what you gained when you stop using the supplements.

I've been getting free protein products for a few years now.
My company acquired a new customer Nature's Best.
They create the product line Iso-pure.
So every 3 months I stock up on a 5 gallon bucket of protein.
They also have a wide variety of health food products.

They're just like food, you just keep taking them. When you get the right things and use them properly they are a benefit. It's really hard to get all the vitamins/minerals etc that you need every day from food. Supplements are good IMO, but just like everything else you put into your body you have to be smart about it.

Anyone can gain weight. You just need to eat more.
Consume more calories than your BMI requires and you'll see the weight add up.
I used to be a hard gainer. I quit Cigarettes and put that extra cash to more food.
I went from 155 to 172

Yeah what he said. It's simple, if you aren't gaining weight bump up your calorie intake 10% and see what happens. If you need to add more then keep going and find a good ground for you

Guide to gaining weight on a budget: PBJs. and lots of them. Not the healthiest way to do it, but it'll work
