If you mixed the spawn evenly with the substrate, if the top is fully colonized then a good guess is the rest of it is as well, because mycellium grows outward in a 3D spherical pattern.
Did you mix it evenly or layer the spawn and substrate?
5-6 days is really fast....mine usually take 7-10 days, and that's using isolates.

Yup. And next time layer, then mix, and use a black liner if you can.

This is a debatable step, but I like to dunk my grains for 15 minutes before I spawn them. I always notice faster colonization speeds. However, it's not considered necessary. Just something to consider trying

Yup. And next time layer, then mix, and use a black liner if you can.
The color of the liner means nothing....light is only a secondary pinning trigger, once there is FAE and evaporation.
Light by itself will not cause side pinning....the liner could be clear if you so chose...if it sticks to the substrate as it consolidates, no FAE can hit the sides, meaning no side pins can form.....regardless of light exposure.
