Since you like R.A.W.'s works too, here's a pretty cool essay on Nietzsche

Everything is better than it was the last time.  I'm good.

If we could look into each others hearts, and understand the unique challenges each of us faces, I think we would treat each other much more gently, with more love, patience, tolerance, and care.

It takes a lot of courage to go out there and radiate your essence.

I know you scared, you should ask us if we scared too.  If you was there, and we just knew you cared too.

What happened to the middle Wittgenstein? He seems to have changed views quite radically because I was nowhere near the early Wittgenstein category but scored highest for the late Wittgenstein category...

Yeah. He just ended up taking a break from philosophy to teach and do other things. In his early career, he was recognized by other brilliant analytical philosophers like Bertrand Russell. He actual met Bertrand Russell, and Russell actually encouraged Wittgenstein to pursue philosophy because he thought he was intelligent and had a lot to say. After Wittgenstein wrote Tractatus (which is based a lot of logic and how it relates to the world) he just took a break from it. Russell thought it was brilliant. This is considered early Wittgenstein.

Later after taking time off and reflecting over his work, he came to write Philosophical Investigations. (This marks the later Wittgenstein) In PI, he tends to contradict what he had said years earlier in Tractatus. This book was more about how the problems that arise in Philosophy (and other fields) are all in their relationship to language. Part of what Wittgenstein gets at later in his life, is that systems are pretty arbitrary (like logic) and he claims that they're problems that only arise within the language-game of logic. Bertrand Russell hated it, and claimed that Wittgenstein got lazy and gave up "real philosophy" for hogwash. Personally, I enjoy the later Wittgenstein more. Later Wittgenstein really emphasized language, language-games, how natural language is (its fluidity), and how language paints our worldviews.

Your Result: W.v.O. Quine / Late Wittgenstein 92%

There is no provable absolute truth. The way you see things is dependant on your language. Truths exist only within a language, and change as the language does.

~~

Pretty accurate. Wittgenstein is one of my favorite philosophers.

They gave me Quine / Wittgenstein and Aristotle.

I think the quiz was lacking and needs more answers, questions and results.

Particular these two questions seem to pigeon hole you into an "or" type False Dichotomy.

5. Is truth relative?
Yes
No, truth is absolute.
You can't prove either one.

6. Is truth transcendent.
Yes, truth exists in a higher realm seperate from the emperical realm.
No, truth exists in the emperical world. (And outside of my mind)
No, truth exists in my mind. ("My mind" can also be the emperical world)

That's because the default of all the answers tries to average them down to 50%. Since there aren't as many questions pertaining to that answer group, it naturally has a slightly higher percentage to compensate. There were only two real questions that pertained to those philosophers specifically. Answer the Mathematics question as "web of our beliefs" (Quine's words) and the Language one as our "limits" (Wittgenstein) and you'll probably pull out with the same answer of Quine / Late Wittgenstein.

Thanks.

What I thought was BS was that if you answered "We should strive to be..." with "an ethical person, always acting in good will" then it added like 30% to your similarity to Kant. Kant wasn't the only philosopher who said people should act ethically.

This quiz didn't have variety enough in available questions and answers to be valid, and also didn't have a variety of results wide enough for me to consider it accurate. I did take it anyways though  For science!

My highest score was 88% for W.V.O. Quine/Late Wittgenstein. Seems accurate, my philosophies are fairly based around analyticism and logic, and I feel as though verbal/written language is a poor form of primary communication

Second highest was Aristotle at 61%

Third was Early Wittgenstein at 59%

Fourth was Nietzsche at 58%

Fifth was Sartre/Camus at 46%

Sixth was Immanuel Kant at 39%

I got 0% for Plato

82% W.v.O. Quine / Late Wittgenstein

"There is no provable absolute truth. The way you see things is dependant on your language. Truths exist only within a language, and change as the language does."

but I also scored 82% Nietzsche... wonder why Quine/Wittgenstein came up ranked first.  78% Sartre/Camus (late existentialists), and 58% Aristotle.  My philosophical beliefs do tend to parallel Wittgenstein and Nietzsche's with a little existentialism thrown in, so I'm content with my results.

Fun lil test, thanks for sharing.

This quiz is surely broken since it gives unreasonably high scores for psychopaths like Jean-Paul Sartre.
