in all honesty i think kids should be kept away from technology at a younger age, they need to get out and socialize, and develope their minds. technology destroys your brain and prevents the proper developement of people.

they need to learn to get enjoyment from talking and meeting people, not from staring at screens and pushing buttons! thats not natural!

i'd recommend getting him some kind of soccerball or tennis raquet or something and getting him interested in sports or some type of physical activity

Maybe, but an interactive object that can be used to stimulate the brain and develop hand eye coordination? Im sure plenty of kids who never grew up with a TV became anti social hermits :strokebeard:

nah i mean it can be great as well, and its a toy, kids love toys. so they get enjoyment from it. and i think its a good present. but i think in general they should be steered away from developing a strong connection to technology and gadgets. or atleast try to limit it, so they aren't just on phones, computers, ipads and xbox's all day shutting the rest of the world out, because thats not healthy!

And to think I thought that USPS was solely used for drug smuggling.
Nope it can also be used to give gifts to the children you never see.

Also cool post on bragging about the first gift you e bought your kid.

Cool toy.

I don't think there is any real evidence tablets, tech, etc. are harmful to children.  When I was a kid, I kinda lived out in the country, so I spent a lot of time playing by myself.  Whether immersed in a tablet or immersed in my room with a GI joe or whatever, I'm not sure it makes much difference.

My generation spent hours in front of an 8-bit nintendo.  I don't see this as much different.
