i was using a different type of wbs. i went to wallmart and saw an other type of wbs. i did the 24h soak and did everething right. i did the g2g transfer, maybe it's just me. It seems that the myc is not liking the grains. Thanks. On the other grains that i did the myc behaves in a different way

Im Probably wrong, im just a noob. But that kinda looks like rhyzomorphic mycelium to me, my jars of brf did the same and ended up ok.

If you did a multispore inoculation, don't expect your jars to always look like each other. They can be different in appearance, rate of growth, fruiting potential, potency and quite a few other variables as well. There's a lot of genetic variation within the species.

It is just the way for the mycelium to reach out for food, kinda like roots on a plant, just shows how hungry your mycelium is?
Somebody correct me because I am talking out my ass here

Yeah. The fuzzy stuff underneath don't look good either.

It is a sign that it is reaching/searching for food. Sometimes that happens on low nutrient agar. It also happens when you have an aggressive culture that runs in to contamination.
Shaking it will lead to quickest answer.
Also, if he got spores from a non-sponsor, it might be oyster.

I notice rhyzo growth at the ends of most unshaken mycelium clusters, once shaken it just makes fluffy mycelium.
So my theory is that if you see rhyzo growth that is not at the tips of the mycelium clusters it is because of lack of nutes.
The op's jar should have been shaken long time ago.

what lack of nutes? the jar is loaded with grain?

what does this have to do with anything?

Well does rhyzo growth have anything to do with nutes? is there a reason it is seen on agar more often than jars?
If it reaches past perfectly good grain without colonizing it, is that a bad sign, or is a bad sign all together?
I am going to agree that I do not think what this jar is doing is signs of good health.

It look ok to me, to be honest. Unless that fluffy myc colonized the jar in a day or two (contam) then I think it is good to go. IME I have had some very whispy myc that turned out fine; other times it is thick or very rhizomorphic; all that despite uniform conditions in my jars (my prep is rather refined.) Cough it up to genetics and shake that thing!
