Stem butt patch transplanting
    #19086205 - 11/04/13 04:40 PM (10 years, 2 months ago)

Hello all!. I've been reading on this site for about a year now and i finally decided to make an account. Anyways, at the beginning of october i stumbled onto a rather large sized patch of psilocybe cyanescens while hunting.

Problem is, as weeks went by it has fallen pray to premature picking (they even picked tiny pins...) and lack of moisture.  It is in a very public location so many have found it already.

My question is, how can i use stem butts to start new mycelial growth to get fruits in the following years? I want to spread the love to as many spots as i can so everyone can have access to these wonder fruits. But i've never cultivated outdoors before, although I have slight experience with cubensis indoors.

My second question would be, when is a good time to start using the stem butts to create mycelium to fruit in the following year. I don't want to start to late/early and mess anything up.

Any input is helpful! Happy hunting to all!

Just put the stem butts into a nice mulch bed two or three inches down and keep it moist and you're good to go. It is as simple as that. Make sure the mulch isn't already colonized by something else (lots of mycelium already there)
