what are you looking for??

Armillaria should be fruiting by the hundreds...

Gymnopilus are starting to fruit on conifers (spectabilis/junonius/armillatus at the bases of hardwoods)...

Cortinarius start to fruit now...

in the handle you should be able to find A. muscaria variations...

Psilocybe cubensis and/or Panaeolus cyanescens are still fruiting if you know where to look...

a lot of interesting Pluteus come out now...

too many Laccaria to name...

this is the best time of year to hunt interesting fungi in Florida...

Cubes and pans is what I'm looking for I just can't go back to my field of 7years, this lady finally said something so I was going to go looking today since we had a lot of rain a couple days ago. I have an idea of where to look I just would rather look in wooded areas instead of pastures but I've never found pans or cubes not growing directly from dung or around it. Any suggestions?

cubensis and cyanescens grow from dung...
you are not going to find them in the woods...

if you want to look for actives in Florida, during this time of year...
look for Gymnopilus species at the bases of hardwoods or grow some balls and search another field...

This thread has been closed.

Reason:
4. Do not ask about current finds in your area.
These posts have been flooding the forum for years. If you're curious about if mushrooms are growing in your area, get out there and look! Mushrooms don't read the books. Sometimes they fruit outside of season. There is no set date for any season, only vast generalizations. Your best bet is that if it's close to the season for the mushroom you are looking for and its been raining, you just might find some.

5. Do not make threads or posts discussing or reporting the weather.
This includes complaining about the weather, asking if the current weather is "good for shrooms", or how long to wait after rain fall to go hunting.
As a general rule of thumb, if it has rained within the last 1-10 days, and the temperatures are correct for the type of mushroom you're looking for, and the time of year is correct then it is very likely that the mushroom you are looking for is growing.
