Cowboy Bebop and Akira have been mentioned, both great.

FLCL was pretty funny/fucked up from what I can remember.

Hayao Miyazaki's work is some of my favorite, especially:
  -Princess Mononoke
  -Spirited Away
  -Howl's Moving Castle
-Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind

OOh I recently watched Princess Mononoke

Absolutely great storyline, two hours+ well spent. Beautiful, drawn like a piece of art.

Damn elfen lied is brutal.

I liked Cowboy bebop if it wasnt mentioned.

And its true that somehow, animes are still some kind of taboo. I cant openly talk about animes with everyone cause they will judge me straight ahead.

Why would you spit over something that can promulgate powerful messages (like movies) but with more flexibilty due to the drawing

Cartoon Network is literally trying to make it's anime audience for freaks and geeks. I haven't seen anime aired regularly on daytime t.v. in half a decade. I think Dragon Ball GT turned everyone off.

Anime is one of those things you almost don't want other people to find out youre into, y'know? I mean to say, when someone comes up and asks you if you are interested in Anime you will instantly say that you aren't but then later on you might change your mind and tell them you really do watch it sometimes.

For instance my cousin also enjoys Anime and always asks me to watch episodes with her, but I usually will be watching something else and she will take me into the other room to watch it with her. Almost as if forcing me to watch something which I originally didn't know if I wanted to watch. She's the kind of girl that is persistent in her requests for people to also gain an interest in Anime. Like she also will persuade my friends into abandoning all their old shows and decide to become a complete anime freak.

A lot of anime can't come over here for certain reasons, because if the voice actors tried to emulate the sounds coming out of those women it wouldn't feel right lol

The Blu Ray with the 5.1 surrond sound or whatever is supposed to be amazing

I first watched this a month ago and its a must watch imo. I believe that you might enjoy this film as much as I did for it seems of your taste. My friend first suggested I watch this a month before I heard of it. It was weird because I was walking in blockbuster and this movie seemed appealing to me but until a week later when he first informed me about it did I really get a chance to view it. Hopefully you liked it as much as I did.

Havnt read through whole thread but I have something very important to add.

All you people reccoming death note NEED to check out code Geass, its very similar to Death note except the characters are more likeable, and it ends up getting A LOT better than death note imo.

Give the first few episodes a watch and i gurantee you will binge watch it to the end.

CODE GEASS

DO IT

NOW.

Death note used to be one of my favorite animes, then I saw CG and it all changed..

I'm thinking of starting Black Lagoon and Lupin the 3rd the Women called Fujiko Mine(again in HD) on funimation.com when my Crunchy roll.com free trial ends
i just saw Angel beats on crunchy roll which was good lol, though I wouldn't pay 7 bucks for the full month service nothing else that would take that long to watch

I hope you've seen cowboy bebop the movie, ghost in the shell and akira

For most of high school I had no life outside watching anime.

Some favorites (sort of in order)--

Cowboy Bebop
Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni (When They Cry)
Death Note
Gurren Lagan
Welcome to the NHK
Ghost in the Shell
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Serial Experiments Lain
Saikano
Code Geass

...I could go on for awhile.

I used to, but with time so limited the shows are more efficient. You must be the Otaku version of the people who didn't want them to make LOTR into movies

But thas okay :aweyeah:
