That wasn't the connection I was making at all. It was simply stating that a piece of tin foil isn't going to impede very much gas exchange.  Gas particles are so small that the path out is easy.  Tin foil is not the same as glass or plastic. Hold a used piece up to the light sometime...

foil is not not needed and is counter productive and theirs really no debate there, sure ge will happen with some loose foil on there but for proper ge remove it

ya it says yellow is a good sign the myce is fighting a contam. Not that the yellow is a good sign.

replace sign with indicator if it will make u feel better

From what i've learned in my short time here GE is a one way flow, like pressure escaping from a pop bottle when you crack the lid. I don't see how foil would stop GE.

It probably don't stop it completely. But it does restrict it at least some.

Since leaving the foil on serves no positive purpose, you should take it off.

You want to create the best conditions as possible.
