kind greetings! I was hoping you might be able to assist me in ID'ing these 2 mushroom species (dried in the photos). They were found a few days ago on a well kept lawn on the east coast of mid-Vancouver Island. Let me know if you need any more details...I've a few ideas what they could be but I could really use your help here. Couldn't get a spore print off them, but you can see some spore deposits on some photos.

 peace!

It is very difficult, and sometimes impossible, to ID dried mushrooms with any confidence. They could have been Gymnopilus.
Try filling out a proper ID request with all the details.

They look kinda of old. If you just want them IDed to know what they are I would suggest not eating them even if they turn out to be active. Can you tell us more about the habitat? Were they found in grass since you said you found them in a well kept yard?

they are dried in the photo-- but they were fresh when growing on the lawn (not deteriorating). Yep, growing on what looked like well kept grass lawn.
smaller fungi Habitat: grass - growing in small clusters of 3-7 mushrooms. found near a gravel walkway.
Gills: dark shade as seen in the photo
Stem: bright white, consistent in diameter to the bottom, no veil remnant
Cap: dark greenish gray/brown with irregular margins, bruises to a darker shade as seen in photo
Spore print color: n/a but likely dark
Bruising: bruises dark shade as seen in photo within minutes of handling/oxidation
Location: vancouver island, BC
larger fungi Habitat: grass lawn, growing in tight groups that seemed to grow on top of each other
Gills: close slightly overlapping dark, not attached to stipe
Stem: fairly tough whitish yellow, slightly enlarged at base.
Cap: smooth yellowish cap not uniform in color, wavy margin and
Spore print color: n/a, but one fruiting body had some spores dropped on it as seen in photo
Bruising: not much discernible color change; see photo
Location: vancouver island, BC

I cannot say with any certainty what these mushrooms are given their current dried state. In the future please take photos of fresh specimens, preferably before you pick them.

(please note that in the first round of photos, there were 2 species shown; the lighter and larger wavy margin and the smaller darker ones) so here's another round of photos. these are as fresh as they are going to get...when picked near a gravel path on a well kept lawn, the stipe is all bright white til touched. you can still see that shade of white in some spots on the stipe.

(these are the smaller ones shown in the first round of photos)

Not sure on those, but nothing active. Maybe a Hygrocybe?
You'll have better luck at getting people to look at them if you start a new thread.

thanks for the guess...why make a new thread? the new clearer photos I posted are just of another fruit of the same type pictured in the OP; fresher (10 minutes from picking) mushroom.

I'm not sure what these are either, but like Tas75 said they are not active. Take a spore print if your curious, it would help narrow things down a bit.

your looking for a black print that doesnt confirm if its active there are other species such as Coprinellus and Psyathrella that print black too. But there are noticeable differences in those species when compared to active species. Those you have might be Lacrymaria velutina
