I think they like grass and dog's like to poop on grass, correlation does not mean causation. :smile:

That's true. But I don't see so many dog poops in the park (though, I'm not particularly conscious of dog poops when I search the lawn), as dog owners usually collect them and throw out. So the fact that these mushrooms were growing exactly at this spot, while they could have been growing anywhere else in a radius of 50 meters or so, may be indicative of something.

But that's just a speculation; I don't have any knowledge of any biological processes that would favor such a P. olivaceus and dog poo friendship. I thought, I should still mention this, as that was also observed by others here.

I have heard this a few times, and everytime i find them there is fat dog poo next to them, But im with byrain
