i like old timey film-reels and stuff so MWAMC seems interesting at least...and A Movie...oh it's only like 11 minutes yo, you should screen it quickly when you want to envisage something like a documentary, only it's more like an advertisement satire of a documentary. it's all about cuts and editing...just wait and see, it's funny.
oh and horror movies was my first foray into films, i mean, i remember Terminator 2 and like walking downstairs to catch glimpses of it and shit, but my mom wouldn't let me watch it...but good ole' dad (real fafa) he introduced me to the wonder world of b-movies and horror! Night of the Living Dead! i was the living dead for the rest of the next day because i watched it at like 2:00 AM and that fucking guy feel asleep right when shit was starting to really fuck up; the girl stabs her mom with the spade in the basement...oh yeah...thanks dad...scarred for life!
one of the best horror B-movies is... THE GRINDER!(oh wait nope it was called...) THE MANGLER (or it it called something else...it's based off of Stephen King, i'm looking into it)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mangler_(film)

oh shit maybe it was like Mangler 2 or 3 or some shit... my dad has a horrible taste in movies. i'm surprised we didn't get to Dead Alive. nah it was number one
it's about a factory press coming alive and 'GRINDING' people up. man, that shit scarred me too, seeing a dude get literally ground up into bits by the innards of a living machine (seriously, one scene where it's just cogs and chains and presses altogether just messing this guy up, it looked so real to me, my brain nearly shot out)...i thought it was bad enough in the beginning when a guy first loses his hand to the roller in the press and it sucks up his arm...oh yeah...B-movie bonanza. i can really thank my dad for fucking me up in my head, legitimately!

Hell yeah, I remember watching part of Jaws when I was little, and my mom didn't let me finish it. haha your dad sounds crazy. That movie looks totally ridiculous, plus it has Robert Englund. I'm going to have to watch that one this month.

it was so much more realistic to me when i was younger like that shit WAS real man.
yeah my dad was not a good influence. i least he wasn't showing me like Vietnam docu's or anything though. LOL just really gory shitty movies that actually kinda rocked.
PS:
yeah this shit looks like Begotten levels of creepy. do want. i think i'll have to dizzle-lizzle it off a torrent, tonight, before i got to bed.

You never know, a laundry folding machine could easily come alive and kill you. Oh shit, I just remembered seeing Starship Troopers when I was little. The brain bug freaked me the fuck out.

weirdly i've been a stickler for film...but more and more i find less and less reason to hate on any movies. it must be this growing up shit....then again i did have all the b-movie experience.

Yeah, it's a different kind of enjoyment. You can't really intellectually engage with ridiculous ass b-movies, but they are fun as hell. Is The Mangler on the level of Bergman or something? Don't think so, but that's no reason to not indulge in some madness now and then.

yeah, i agree, i've been doing that alot more recently, just because...i don't know, i'm not as much of a stickler i guess. i mean, i usually, if i'm gonna watch a classic (Fitzcarraldo for example) i hook up my comp to my plasma TV and get my rocking chair (a new edition honestly) and set it up right in front of my tube and get sucked in...i just haven't been doing that recently.
but whatever, i still like some of the flicks i've caught onto, but i've been getting lazy.

Yep, you've gotta mix it up. There are only so many days you can watch some heavy ass shit before you gotta throw on a comedy or b movie or something. Also Herzog is on another level of badass.
Lol rocking chair.

*shudder*
this thread made me realize something...first with me, it was games, then it was film and music, now it's art and literature.
liberal arts degree eat your heart out. i might be the biggest liberal that ever libbed.
oh and goodnight, Omen, nice chattin' with you!
PS: They Live! was GREAT. the fight, the TV bitch, the bank and all...the ending was kinda tragic too. (super cheesy credit score as well)
but alls well that ends well.
