I found this listed on eBay:

I was wondering if it will be suitable for mushroom identification purposes. I have no previous experience with it, I only know that 1000x magnification was recommended for viewing spores.

Yeah that 1000x is digital zoom, which means it will almost certainly be terrible. I've looked into getting a digital microscope before and while they talk a good game, cheap optics and digizoom always kills the deal.
And also that auction is a little..... shady. I see no indication whatsoever that those demonstration images actually came from the scope for sale. Also the scope doesnt actually come with the stand and rod, just the scope and mount.

I'd say save your money and avoid it.

Does anyone have any examples of what is a good microscope that is within a reaonable price range?
Also, how are eg. spores measured in microns? Is there a "ruler" inside the microscope or is this done with software provided?
(I have no practical experience with microscopes yet)

If it has an optical zoom to 1000x, that highest power will be nearly useless. You need separate objectives. The one that gives you 1000x MUST be an oil immersion objective. At 1000x, we are at the limits of light microscopy. Only oil between lens and cover slip can keep things sharp.

You can find OK monocular microscopes for about 75-100$ online. They aren't great but they usually have at least a 40X objective which will show fungal spores perfectly well. For bacterial work you would really need a good 100X obj, and a higher quality scope. If you have any colleges in your town see if they have a surplus sales outlet. I have seen serviceable binocular 4 objective scopes for the 100-150$ range that way.
AmScope 40x-1000x All-Metal Student Cordless LED Field Biological Compound Microscope with All Optical Glass Lenses
or
AmScope 40X-1000X All-Metal Optical Glass Lenses Cordless LED Student Biological Compound Microscope with Coarse & Fine Focusing
Would be decent choices. Id suggest spending the extra 10$ to get the fine control, personally.
You can buy special slides which have marks of known size on them for calibrating your field of view. Sometimes the eyepiece lens will have a little ruler-like mark printed on it, which you would then line up with the slide calibrator and say "Ok the eye piece ruler is 100um in length at this scale" and then measure objects as a fraction of that. Alternatively you can train computers to do it all for you if you have a digital hook up for the scope.
