My understanding is that you really do not need to use wax paper...follow FrankHorrigan's mono teks

Not trying to post within 24 hrs but trying to give info. Wax paper can be used as a casing alternative and i want to experiment with it and see a side by side comparison of franks dialed in tubs which i already use and see what differences i get on pinsets.
Looking for answers to my question guys not looking to be thrown different teks. Sorry if that sounds like im a dick but people do that a lot on here. Ive been getting really bad pinsets and wondering if this might help a bit

The straight answer is:
Just crumple it and put it on. No other prep is needed

That doesn't sound like being a dick. Not always possible to know on here how experienced people are so hard to know what info to throw peoples' way. Good luck

your fine posting when people ask you questions your just not supposed to bump your thread b4 24 hrs.
I've never heard of using wax paper. I would say no its not sterile off the roll cause its in the open air.
Are you growing from multi spore each time or growing a clone? Because pin sets can be affected a lot by genetics.

Wax paper and bubble wrap have been used to make up for sub-par fruiting conditions. The idea is to create a micro-climate on the surface that's favorable for pinning.
By many, it's considered to be a last ditch effort to get pins when you can't figure out and/or create proper fruiting conditions.
But, it could be genetics.

The official bubble wrap tek
This thread also applies to wax paper. The main thing it does is keep a high RH at the surface.
Crinkling the wax paper or using bubble wrap is what allows for air flow. But, the air flow has to exist. In other words, closets are still bad places for growing, generally speaking. If you're not getting FAE, these teks won't help.
I honestly don't have much to say about these teks. I tried WP and BW and got zero success. Turns out it was genetics. When I went to new genetics, they fruited without WP or BW. I never tried them again.

Ya bro with being in school semesters seem to short to work with agar and iso or clone to tubs. By them im already home for break. When i use ms, it takes 14-18 days for colonization. I then g2g out which takes up to another 10-14 days, then spawning to bulk takes another 2 weeks, then always seems to take me like a week or week and a half to get a pinset going from inducing pinning. So much time but i bet could be avoided by using agar. Only thing is id need to be able to store it for long term use and not sure how viable it will be after sitting around for month.
