No that's a large log , I've been looking in the piney woods alot. I used to find cintcilus at this ranch I worked at

you might try laying them on clear glass, like a pot lid or salad dish and see what you get as they dry a bit.

Oh and thats cool they grew from a log. Gymnopilus luteus and Aeruoginosus like conifer wood. Im going to have to check some of the douglas fir trees in my area. Here i thought they only liked hardwoods lol now I know

It's a Tricholomopsis, not a Gymnopilus. I posted a link about how to make a spore print, did you read it op?
