Excited about my new business

Hey guys. I've been browsing this site for years off and on. I forgot my old account so I just created this new one. Im in college almost done with an engineering degree and just realized that its not what I would like to spend my days working on. I have always had a passion for music, clothes and sports and had the idea to start an online clothing store.
I didn't intend for this to be spam, rather I would like to hear back from you guys what you think of my website, HowDope.com, and any tips or advice you could give me. Right now I am struggling with advertising and I want to expand the inventory but must first sell some of the items I already have to be able to order more stock.
Thanks, I appreciate any feedback.

It's not good practice for a post like this to be your first post, even if you once had a different account here.

That's your opinion.
I posted to get feedback from a forum that I know is full of intelligent, helpful users who usually make the extra effort to give good advice. I have also posted on this forum asking for ID of mushrooms and various other things which I can't even remember because its been a while.
I made a specific point to post this in the Pub section because I thought that would be the right place for it. The ONLY reason I posted a link to my website is because you guys wouldn't be able to give me very good critique/suggestions without seeing what I am talking about.

Considering the above, I'll be honest. I don't think the designs are good, everything is over-priced, and the images are way to small to sell.

it'd be cool if the stuff was cheaper, and you had more to chose from. nice layout though.

Sites not awful, everything is overpriced though.
YOu should make the images expand under the cursor like sites like amazon do, clicking the picture to make it bigger is lame.

Also, I think the website background look like a 1990 website. Kinda look sketchy. I think the font is hard to read. Too small too. Same for the product pics.
My two cents.

I agree, I'm not the most adept at programming and I'm just using Wordpress to power the site but if I figure out how to do this I will definitely implement it.

Well that would be a shame because this is really useful feedback that I will take to heart because this is my first experience with anything like this. I don't understand how having a dialogue about my website should automatically make it spam.

Brutally honest. I like that. I would disagree on the part about the designs though. The pricing will hopefully go down when I can get more traffic/sales.

I'm sorry but that last part is you get more sales by offering a good product at a good price, not by the promise of if I get more sales I'll make my prices reasonable.
Just my two cents.

It reads like junk mail. Some guy walks in, talks about his website, then he disappears. It happens often.

That's my whole point, I am not trying to sell something here. I am telling you guys the situation, I can't lower the prices yet because I don't buy in large enough quantities to get those kind of discounted rates. Also, I am not sure of what the brands would think if I undercut their prices by a substantial amount. So for now the prices have to be around or just a bit lower than what the brands are listing them for.

I honestly would only buy one of the shirts on the site for a maximum of $20, maybe have a wider selection or make prices lower

Your website looks shit house for a sales website. The purple font looks unprofessional. The wallpaper like someone said earlier, looks like it's from the 90s, when everyone was running Windows 98. Worst of all is the general style of your page. If i entered your site, looking to buy clothes, i'd likely exit right away, thinking i accidentally entered a home made blogging website instead.
You have no adverts in your website either. You may be able to increase your profits if you rent out space for adverts.
In my opinion, i think you could easily fix your website by correcting just a few things. You can see too much wallpaper. People don't need to see your wallpaper. Expand the things in your page so as little as possible empty space is showing. Change the purple font to black, and change the background to something that emphasizes the things on your page. That photo by Evan Miller is the center focus of your page. You should move it, and instead put your products there.
Here's a pic that shows your webpage, on the right. I have made a few edits in Gimp, simply adjusting the items you have, to demonstrate how you can better manage the space on the page. This was a very quick mod, and i didn't even fix the purple fonts, ugly background and Evan Miller photo. I think the modded version pic looks much better already. Even in my mod, the amount of wallpaper visible on the left and right is quite a bit and could be improved even more.

I agree with knightron.
Also, I looked at your shirts and was thoroughly disappointed. I'd never buy any of that.

Noted. I agree with the purple fonts comment, I will change the font to black as soon as I can figure out how to change the background color of the buttons (like "Shirts") because it is currently set to black when it is clicked.
I'm glad you guys voiced your concern over the wallpaper, that's something that I didn't think would even be a problem. I'm wondering if anyone else also felt that the background wallpaper needs to be covered more? I'm ADD and I personally like seeing less clutter on a web page, it makes it more welcoming visually, but I realize not everyone is like that. Same reason why I haven't sought out Ads to put on my page.

I see fashion as an art, like music. Not everyone could possibly agree with the selection. I chose many of the designs because they weren't overbearing, stuff that you could regularly wear around yet nicer than your average tees.

Fixed. The photos now zoom like you were saying. Like I said, thank you so much for the feedback! its already making a difference
