What the heck are these?

After the rain last night, I found this very large mushroom growing out of a tree.

Its about a foot wide, and it has an undesirable smell.

Has too much of a stem for oysters I think. My guess would be Hypoloma or Entoloma:shrug:

It might be a Hypsizygus species. If it was growing from Box Elder or Elm I would compare H. ulmarius.

Hypholoma are smaller, and dark spored. Entoloma occur in soil and have pink spores.

These have a white spore print by the way, I don't know if that changes anything

If it is indeed Hypsizygus tessulatus, are they edible?
