I hope you love it.
Movies like that I try and go in hoping to engoy it. Lower expectations, usually make a better experience for me. Maybe that is why I like the second Alien vs Predetor movie more than the first. I saw the first one in the theater and thougt it sucked. Waited to see the second film on a torrent and it was enjoyable.
I just got around to reading the book last year. It was okay. I think the movie could actually be better than the book if done properly. One is for sure, hords of nerds will rip the movie apart for not being just like the movie.

they should faithfully should adapt the expanse series imo. highly adaptable, well written with great characters and plot. nothing mindblowing conceptually but you don't need that to make a great film. hollywood needs to get back to focusing on telling great stories to go with their eye candy.

I am hoping it will be good. The book was amazing. The author is a LDS whack job, but he is a hell of a writer.

Its not requirement, but it helps.

I liked it. Xenocide will never be a movie though. (nor will speaker and children)

Awesome, glad to here.
Since you enjoyed the book it gives me some hope.
Now, do you think it was better, equal, or lesser than the book?

Lesser, like always, but the effects are better than what your imagination when you were reading.
They dropped aspects of the story of course. But its still 80 to 90% like the book

My only concern is whether to go on DXM,LSD, or sober. I love going to see movies in the theaters while tripping. I love both, dxm obviously being easier to get though. Honestly I'll prolly end up going sober though. Either way glad to hear it wasn't absolute shite

Fuck, you guys are kinda forcing me into saying the flaws... fuck it I will
The battle scenes are shortened, otherwise the movie would run for 4 hours. Demosthenes and Locke have been completely left out of the movie, Valentine has a minor role and Peter only has a scene.
Other than that, its good.
To my great surprise, they respected the ending of the book. I thought they would have cut it out to lenghten the battle scenes (since I doubt they would make Speaker a movie). But they kept it.

If thats the only flaws then your saying they have the Computer game with the giant and the fight with bonzo madrid?

Yes
Also, they really picked the perfect actor for bonzo. He has a face you want to bash in with a baseball bat

Okay... now I am actually looking forward to seeing this according to your review. Still have to wait for a torrent
Funny I looked at a few bad reviews on rotten tomato and just stopped when political views and other crap came into play besides the actual movie.
