Anger problems
    #1907088 - 09/11/03 09:39 PM (14 years, 17 days ago)

Whenever I get mad, just a little mad, I start getting anxious. My leg will start to shake, and I will feel jumpy. This will go on for a few hours, and Im constantly thinking. A simple aqrgument or comment can make me start to think about such things as planning to rob, or hurt someone. I feel real anxious for an hour or 2, whats wrong with me? Should I see a doctor?

If it's bothering you then do go see a doctor. It can't hurt.

"let go."

Insert an "I think" mentally in front of eveything I say that seems sketchy, because I certainly don't KNOW much. Also; feel free to yell at me.

I hear you dude. I grew up as the enormously-fat kid and even though I'm in really good shape now I still have some of that anger. Being a person with an anger problem sucks, because in the end, you only end up screwing yourself.

Stupid people that do stupid shit get what's coming to them. Although it'd be nice to do so, it's not your job to give it to them... you just end up getting in trouble with the law or hurt. Your best bet is to let all these people that're pissing you off keep fucking up or doing whatever they're doing and they'll eventually get what they deserve. Be passive about it.

I've toiled for hours about what I want to do to people to get my revenge. What good did it do me? None. I just raised my bloodpressure, cast away anyone who tried to talk to me while I was in the midst of toiling, and it didn't solve anything.

You need to find the answer in yourself, perhaps through meditation or deep thinking (or, hell, tripping). I wouldn't advise going to a doctor unless you feel like you're going to harm yourself or others. All they're going to do is either 1) send you to anger management courses aka AA for the angry 2) prescribe you something like they did to the other half of america or 3) just take your money and not solve anything.

There is much more satisfaction in fixing your problems yourself rather than paying someone else to fix them (or making you think they fixed them). You'll be the stronger person in the end.

Lao Tzu said something along those lines about 'watching the bodies of your enemy float by as you sit by the river'

or somethin' like that..

I'd go to a good psychologist trained in CBT rather than a doctor if I were you. I suffered similar problems for years and tried many different medicines that helped some but not enough. It was not until a friend gave me a book called been there, done that? do this... That had tools to help myself that I began to make real progress and I was able to get off of all medicine and feel the best I have felt in many years. It was written by a guy who suffered for many years himself and is a motivational speaker. It was only available through his website (www.tao3.com) when I got it and I have given it as a gift book to several friends as it is a quick and easy read. Good luck!

Its not people I hate that I think about, its freinds/family people I like. A small little anything will start to bother me, and I feel reel anxious. You think it could be an anxiety problem, mabey triggred by anger?

ihave a very short temper, but i am also the most mellowist person. the more i meditate and draw and do something creative the less mad i find myself getting. And trust me i can get very violent if someone personally attacks me. but you just gotta let it slide.
