There was a boat? It's amazing what you miss when you're fixated on mushrooms.

Don't rely on a spore print for galerina, unless vs.  Psilocybe.

Maybe the terms differ regionaly, but that's not a jon boat. It appears to have a shallow v or modified v hull.

My first boat was a 12' joh. Done a lot of Southern Michigan small-lake fishing in those.

I just thought you wanted more discussion about the boat

Lol! U would be amazed the fishermen I put to shame in my ten footer. I can get into the flooded areas with ease in 6 inches of water. I was catching carp bare handed one year that way! Have to see it to believe it! :llamastare:

Lol...yeah yeah... south Florida, all freshwater boats are Jon boats...I even know hardcore saltwater guys that call nitros and bass trackers Jon boats lol. But I mean, me and a buddy used to drop shark baits in a 12' flat bottom Jon boat, until we got swamped one day lol...the next week we went out and got an ocean kayak to drop baits...best idea ever!!!

I'm not gunna lie, it was a good thing my pants were already wet from the water lol ... that poon had me paddling for my life, it felt like!! That was one of the best fights I've ever had. I ran a 15 horse Evinrude. Wide open, it required weighting the front end with blocks to keep it from trying to fly and flip over. Certainly some shortfalls to a flat bottomed craft of 45lb.

Yeah, but we spent all our time fishing instead of fixing up our gear... we had a term for "rigging" it up so its good enough to not kill us  but its kind of offensive I'm sure, so...but yeah, we would just set up out bait and rig, tie a cinder block to it and toss it in the back of the yak.... and just remember not to lean when you turn around to grab the rig to drop it.... oh and drop the bait BEFORE the brick is a good thing to remember also lol

Yeah, 15hp was both bigger than the 10hp maximum allowed on an unregistered craft and the 10hp maximum allowed on a craft that size. It was totally overkill, but then again, it beats spending 25 minutes rowing against the wind to stay in place while trying to row home.

Nice looking Flammulina velutipes!  Cut them close to the cap to avoid any stem bits, then wash all the crap that stuck to them off.  They cook up great.
