Lol! U would be amazed the fishermen I put to shame in my ten footer. I can get into the flooded areas with ease in 6 inches of water. I was catching carp bare handed one year that way! Have to see it to believe it! :llamastare:

Lol...yeah yeah... south Florida, all freshwater boats are Jon boats...I even know hardcore saltwater guys that call nitros and bass trackers Jon boats lol. But I mean, me and a buddy used to drop shark baits in a 12' flat bottom Jon boat, until we got swamped one day lol...the next week we went out and got an ocean kayak to drop baits...best idea ever!!!

I bet if you put a deck on it, and a weighted keel it'd be alright. lol.

I ran a 15 horse Evinrude. Wide open, it required weighting the front end with blocks to keep it from trying to fly and flip over. Certainly some shortfalls to a flat bottomed craft of 45lb.

Yeah, but we spent all our time fishing instead of fixing up our gear... we had a term for "rigging" it up so its good enough to not kill us  but its kind of offensive I'm sure, so...but yeah, we would just set up out bait and rig, tie a cinder block to it and toss it in the back of the yak.... and just remember not to lean when you turn around to grab the rig to drop it.... oh and drop the bait BEFORE the brick is a good thing to remember also lol

Damn...we had a 12' flat bottom with a 3.5 HP I wanna say....something horribly undersized lol...we could paddle faster than that motor pushed us lol...funny thing is, we still used the motor

Would an amphibious gerry-vehicle be a gerrymander?

Yeah, 15hp was both bigger than the 10hp maximum allowed on an unregistered craft and the 10hp maximum allowed on a craft that size. It was totally overkill, but then again, it beats spending 25 minutes rowing against the wind to stay in place while trying to row home.
