Thank you Tangich! I did a quick search for them..
Are these (Honey mushrooms)edible and if so are there any nonedible lookalikes I should know of?

Please. I need one more person to offer their knowledge of what this is so I feel safe to eat it and share the bounty with others. This is my first time trying to identify any wild mushrooms.
Ive already chewed and swallowed one, maybe that was a bad idea? Are there any toxic lookalikes?

Yes, you have a Honey Mushroom (Armillaria). You should cook them well instead of eating them raw though.

Thank you RiverDweller1! I needed one more persons opinion for my peace of mind while eating them
They have a very powerful mushroomy after taste. I wish they were sweeter, but Im still very happy to have found my first wild edibles!

Nice finds! And I love your user name!! Lol, that's great ...and I've heard Amillaria tabescens are good soup mushrooms, the stems can be very tough tho

Thanks art2312!
My username is a song by Ween, Ween is one of the first artists I listened to on mushrooms and I had a great time(curled into the fetal position on the couch).
I feel awesome being able to eat mushys that came out of my own front yard, so thank you all so much!! Thanks for your info I was thinking of pan frying them, but soup sounds like a better idea.

I did not, I ate about 3 caps raw and kinda feel like I shouldn't even bother trying to cook with these. I understand there must be some chemical inside that will get cooked out, but after feeling like this and having the memory of a bad experience I think Im done trying to eat wild edibles.

That's a shame, there are some tasty shrooms out there. Following directions would have saved you the gut ache

Eating raw wild mushrooms is a bad idea, they should always be cooked first.

RiverDweller told you to cook it thoroughly. I don't want to be mean or anything, but why would you eat raw mushrooms anyway?? For what purpose? All mushrooms have to be cooked before eating (with just a few exceptions, which taste far better cooked anyway). Even if they don't contain any toxins, the chitin in the cell walls will cause digestive problems. And all of the mushrooms I tasted raw had pretty horrible taste and texture, but tasted wonderful when cooked.

Not to mention that some snails/slugs can carry some pretty ugly parasites that are left behind after they crawl around on mushrooms.
