Anyone have an idea of what this could be. Not sure what this is exactly, but it has blue bruising all over. Right when it was first picked, the the stem was much whiter with what looked like a small blue ring around upper stem. But a minute after picking the entire stem turned blue. The sporeprint was a dark purple-brown shade. Found on the border of some grass and some leaves/debris. Wet, damp environment in Tacoma area.

It's not bruising blue; it's just blue. You found a blue Stropharia.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

Even though when I found it the stem wasn't really that blue? When I found it, the stem was very white with a blue ring near the top. Within a minute or so, the stem turned colors.
Blue stropharia inactive or poisonous?

I looked those up and the only thing in common between the 2 are some of the colors. The stems look completely different and the cap of mine does not have that sprinkled look to it. Either way, it is an inactive and won't be eaten.

RiverDweller, those pics in your signature, are they from the northern Oregon coast? Maybe the Astoria or Cape Disappointment area of WA. They look like some areas I explored last month.

Joust is referring to established descriptions, not just browsing the web. It is either what he said or one of two very closely related species. I know what kind of images you are referring to but these blue Stropharia often are more like this than that.
