Strange Golden Teacher Caps

Hello everyone!
I've been harvesting my first grow the past week - I have six cakes of Golden Teacher and six Burma. Most of my Golden Teachers look alright, but a couple have been growing with some strange caps that were never round, instead they were split.
A couple of the split caps formed whole caps when the mushrooms were ready for picking, but one of them (pictured below) just looks weird.
Does anyone know what would cause this? Is this safe to eat? What is the deal here??
Thanks in advance!

Sorry to ask, but by "nom away" do you mean it's safe to eat?

Not all are that thick, mostly just the strange ones. But the ones that ARE thick seem to be kinda hollow inside the stems. Is that normal?

a lovely lil mutant, eat it!
yeah stems can be hollow, that's okay from what i've read and seen for myself, fruiting in warmer temps tends to make hollow stems, fruiting in slightly colder temps makes meatier, denser fruits with solid stems
but nothing wrong with it being hollow

Yea golden teacher are notorious for producing hallow stems, some beople claim that they are big yielders because of what you can see, but get them on a scale and its a diff story.

I have read it several times, I guess it is an urban legend lol.
Is it also not true that P.E. rarely grows hollow stems?

Cubes have hollow stems.....this is just a trait of the species.
Lower temps will help produce meatier, denser fruits.
Higher temps will promote hollower stems.

Temp does not affect pinset does it? only FAE and humidity?

Genetics and environmental factors effect pinsets, not temp.

I read that high co2 will get a good pinset but will lead to aborts.

You mean like just keeping them high till fruiting that leads to a good pinset or keeping them high through fruiting?

up until pinset is noticed.
I guess they think they will have that much co2 + fae when fruiting, then when you inevitably have to add FAE it looses co2 and then you get aborts because the co2 levels can not sustain the pinset.

That could take forever.
You want high co2 for colonization, and lots of FAE for fruiting.
Fruit it at 100%....do not wait for pinning.
