Ok....so please tell me
what do I do if I am in that situation where the cop is ordering me to open the door?
Could I not just kick the cop in the balls and run back inside?

It is best to not answer the door at all if you think its the police. If they have the right to enter they will kick it down, and you can use the broken door as proof that you did not let them in.
The more paranoid members here never answer the door unless they are expecting someone. That is the safest thing to do, though personally I am not that paranoid.
The guy in the video made the right choice by not opening the door. If he did get arrested that night, I doubt he got charged. And if so, his obstruction charge would be very contestable and probably preferrable to having cops running around his house. If he had opened it they probably would have looked hard for a reason to go in.

Even if you have nothing to hide, it is still very inconvient to have cops running amok in your place. They typically leave a big mess, and if they break stuff you will not be compensated.

It's very unlikely that the guy was arrested. If so, he'd have a pretty solid case against the cop.
If the cop has the right to have the door open and look in, he/she will open it him/herself. The only reason they asked the person to open it was because they had no justification for having it open. After she handcuffed him, if he had opened it, it would have been a coerced consent which would have poisoned the tree if they had seen something.
That female cop needs to spend less time on her hair and makeup and more time studying criminal procedure.

She's not looking to stay a cop long. She's clearly bucking for a career in the entertainment industry.

Its my guess that she took those handcuffs back off as soon as the cameras stopped rolling.

What do you think about opening a 2nd story window and talking to the cops from up there?
With this technique, one can talk to the police and find out what the heck is going on, from a relatively safe position, without risk of them pushing their way in or putting you in cuffs.
I did this once with pretty good success. It turned out to be that I had parked illegally. A neighbor had called it in, and he was actually being nice about it and giving me an opportunity to move my car, which I did, and avoided a ticket. Had I not talked with them, I would have had to pay a damn parking ticket.

I'm not resisting, but I don't consent to any searches.

Talking through any window is good. Or through an intercom.

My friend hopped out of his car and locked it and tossed his car keys into woods when they started to try illegal search. They called a tow truck driver with slim jim. Might as well force them to break in though, its the principle.

Well at least they can't say that he consented to the search.

Barry Cooper, the ex narcotics agent who made the videos "Never Get Busted" and "Never Get Raided" said that if he could get someone to open their door, even a crack, that he could gain access to their home by just claiming that he smelled pot which is probable cause. He had other excuses too. He says if you must confront them, come out of your back door and around your house and approach them or speak through a closed window. Otherwise ignore them.
It's been a while since I saw the videos, but I'm pretty sure that's the advice he gave. They're worth watching.
