Went on a ghostwalk
    #19064294 - 10/31/13 04:12 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

A couple of days ago I went on a ghostwalk with the Canadian paranormal Society. Checked out an old heritage house that was built in early 1900's. There was about 20 of us, a few psychics, some "sensitives" and a few skeptics. I was one of the skeptics, not a dick skeptic though.

I just wanted to see some proof and check out the equipment. They were using EMF detectors (K2's), infrared and UV cameras, digital recorders, and a few other pieces I can't remember right now.
I got some weird readings with the K2's in places where there should be zero but it wasn't enough to make me a believer.

The psychics had people write down what they were feeling or channeling and there were some similarities but again nothing mindblowing.
The investigators had been to that place before and apparently the toy piano upstairs was being played when the place was empty.

Anyway, It was a cool experience. Anyone else ever done this?

Cool. I'd love to go on a ghost hunt, if only to stomp around old buildings and such.

This was only a couple of hours but I would try it out again for sure. The head guy apparently had his first encounter at Edinburgh Castle. He as thrown against a wall and suspended for about a minute apparently.
He also has had tables flip, doors open and close, sudden dizziness and nausea, and things spinning out of control.

They told me there was another local place inhabited by a child spirit. They even had his name ( was a real boy who died) who would play with this device. Not sure what it was called but when you go near it light up and makes a beep. The spirit was playing with it for almost an hour. No one else was near it and it was going crazy.

The heritage house/museum I was at was pretty creepy though. Seeing those old wooden dolls with the creepy eyes in the dark was cool. I even got some emf reading from one of the dolls, but nothing 6" around it.

They still haven't gone over the audio yet. It was me and the head investigator talking to the spirits and hoping for a response. Everyone else was outside but I was invited to help.

Apparently its in the top 10 most haunted spots in the world. And its 900 years old

Edinburgh Castle is reputed to be one of the most haunted spots in Scotland. And Edinburgh itself has been called the most haunted city in all of Europe. On various occasions, visitors to the castle have reported a phantom piper, a headless drummer, the spirits of French prisoners from the Seven Years War and colonial prisoners from the American Revolutionary War - even the ghost of a dog wandering in the grounds' dog cemetery.

My second day working at this 100 year old vacant  mansion gave me a stir.  I thought someone walked by out the corner of my eye under my hat, looked down at my work and looked up and no one was around at all.  Another night a while back I was watching the fireworks from a graveyard and heard boots walking on the pavement.  But I didn't see any cars, people, or wildlife.

I'd like to get a basic kit.  I find my self  in random old historical locations all the time.

these are a few things that they used

with the UV/infrared digital camcorder and a digital audio recorder. They process the audio and look for waveform spikes (especially after questions are asked) transpose frequencies to find audio that is normally outside human hearing.
