excuse the dirtiness of my hands, im a mechanic. I was at my job when i spotted a red amanita mushroom. They start popping up a lot in this area around this time. I went over to the mushroom and saw this cool looking bee. I hope the amanita wasn't killing the bee but i guess nature takes its course. Hers the pic of the bee.

Nah... Just looked at some green bottle fly pics and they're configured much like the common house fly... This guy seems to have a longer thorax and overall different shape. Too bad we can't see his eyes. I want to make him into a piece of jewelery, but that would be insecticide. Yukyukyuk.

Maybe we need a "Trusted Bee Identifier" tag. (No sarcasm intended)
Nice bee!

I'll be that. Again I don't really know what species you have in the USA but it is a cuckoo-wasp (also known as jewel-wasp). Try Chrysis smaragdula.

Chrysis smaragdula looks a better fit than anything I know in Agapostemon.

Thanks for posting it. You can see the shiny-capped mesopleuron is why I hazarded a guess at the species.
