My First Grow Log

I have my Rye Grains mixed in a coir/verm substrate in a small plastic container approximately 5"W x 5"H x 5"L which is not by any means a large container. My substrate depth is approx 3 inches (4 inches is better I know). The substrate is on day 4 of colonization and is doing great so far.
My question is whether I can use a bag instead of putting it in a sgfc and destroying a tub. Kind of like the shroom grow kits they sell.
http://azarius.net/smartshop/magic-mushrooms/grow-kits/mushroom-grow-kit-ready-to-grow-cambodia/
Another concern I have is that I made a mistake when I was mixing the substrate and left some of the grain visible on the surface and it is colonizing on the surface, kind of looks white and fluffy like mothballs (its not contam just mycelium). Should I leave it alone?
Iwish I could post some pics but right now that is not possible. My next project will be a full sized monotub as this is my first trial run.
Thanks a lot for being such a helpful community.

I will as soon as I can. Is the grow bag a good idea? is there maybe a better alternative I should consider?

Alright so I checked the substrate for colonization and I actually found two tiny shrooms making some great progress already XD . I'ma bit nervous about the substrate because i don't see any pins or knots butit looks very much colonized.
Here is a pic of the container while colonzing (kept it in a large dark bin while colonizing)

Here is what it actually looks like inside

I took the whole substrate out of that container, put about 4 inches of perlite and put it on a shelf.

Only thing I can tell is the holes are a big bigger than I normally see, other than that, you pins in the origin picture look like their possibly trying to escape high co2 levels by stretching towards the top of the container, hence the long skinny stem with tiny cap..
But than again im a noob.

I'm more of a noob than you are so your advice is appreciated. The shrooms you see were created during colonization which is why I'm worried. But I don't see any more visible pins or knots. Also the mycelium up top is very fluffy and there are visible water droplets within that fluff.
And what do you think I should do about the holes? Should I tape some up?

Lighting can attribute to tiny caps and its more of a stale air thing then co2 which is minimal at best during fruiting.

Alright so here is an update of what this all looks like now. No pinning as of yet. What do you think of the top layer?

Looks like california in thirty years near the san andreas fault line.
No, It Looks good! But I see pins in the cracks micro-climate, do you know the RH and what kind of FAE is going on, is there misting being done or no?

Yeah a part of it broke off when I was putting it in the sgfc haha! I'm misting and fanning 3 or 4 times a day, but I won't be home tomorrow so I won't be able to mist or fan. I partially covered it the chamber in order to keep the RH up while I'm gone. I'm coming back in 24hrs to tend for it. :-(
